Sixx Sense Interview with Mike and Chester (Summary)

-Starts with Chester talking about his difficult-to-maintain hair
-Rick Rubin is described by Sixx as a peaceful biker.
-Chester Bennington once again voices Rubin's extensive/diverse knowledge about various genres
-Mike states he prefers Rick Rubin to Don Gilmore because the horizon of Don's musical interest doesn't expand to hip-hop (as well as other genres I'm sure, which doesn't suit the band's style of creating music)
-Rubin is 'not a dictator', merely supporting the band during the creative process
-Chester & Mike talk about the creative process itself and how the band tends to overproduce demos and obtains 'Demoitis' when they as artists become too committed to a certain track due to a substantial quantity of time and effort being put into it.
-Brad and Mike decided most of what went on the records during the Hybrid Theory/Meteora era
-Pre-Minutes To Midnight the band decided they wanted everyone to get involved in production equally
-Once again, the word 'tools' was used.
-Both Meteora and Hybrid Theory took around 3 months/14 demos each to make
-Minutes To Midnight took 18 months/150 demos
-Chester talks about writer's block and relates it to Mike taking a long time to write Breaking The Habit
-Chester cried when he first sang Breaking The Habit (If you didn't know that already)
-Chester also felt similarly telling Robert Smith how much Smith's music meant to him
-Chester talks (obviously, a growing pattern) about how he isn't ashamed of his emotions because they as a band feed off of their emotions to create their music
-Mike talks about how Joe Hahn used to be a committed conspiracy theorist whilst Mike and him were at college and also during Hybrid Theory and Meteora
-Mike says Joe Hahn might include illuminati symbolism in music videos
-Chester & Mike discuss the stupidity of people spreadin' the illuminati rumour and how people on Twitter accused Linkin Park of being illuminati and devil-worshippers
-Mike talks about their production being spontaneous, working out the kinks as they went along, rather than the song being pre-meditated
-Mike talks about how he wants LP's new music to be energetic
-Mike has particular interest in indie bands and hip-hop. Big shocker.
-Chester didn't want to put 'In The End' on Hybrid Theory
-Chester admires the imperfection of recordings in old-school rock albums
-Mike says 'Death Grips' is a band that pushes the limits, 'A punk rock take on rap'
-Chester talks about his ridiculous outfits such as a spike chain or a padlock on his neck
-Chester had to take off all of his jewelery to go through the metal detectors at the airport and began shouting at the security who told him to take it off.
-Mike thinks Mutemath is the middle ground stylistically between Incubus and Linkin Park
-Chester talks about how he thinks the strict law on releasing music is overly strict (in not so many words)

-Oh yeah, Chester doesn't think the future exists.

It's funny how Brad and Mike wrote the majority of songs during HT/Meteora. And that it took 1/6 of the time to make Meteora compared to MTM. Maybe if they took less time on Minutes To Midnight, they'd make an album more deserving of following Meteora, the best Linkin Park album to come out thus far.
