Linkin Park's "Somewhere I Belong" has claimed the sixth spot on Yahoo's Top 10 Lyric Searches of 2003. The single was released in February and is one of only two rock songs in the top 10, along with Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life". The full list is as follows; 01. 50 Cent - In Da Club 02. Evanescence - Bring Me to Life 03. Missy Elliot - Gossip Folks 04. Lil Jon & Eastside Boyz - Get Low 05. Sean Paul - Get Busy 06. Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong 07. Lil Kim feat. 50 Cent - Magic Stick 08. Eminem - Lose Yourself 09. R. Kelly - Ignition Remix 10. Beyoncé feat. Sean Paul - Baby Boy Congratulations, Linkin Park! Thanks to J-Flex for the news!
oh god, ok, i do like "In Da Club" (the only song by 50 Cent that i acutally listen to) but it cannot qualify for good lyrics!! grrr and how come only 2 rock songs made it to the top 10? i mean, according to me rock songs have got the best lyrics (this is just an opinion here, no offence to those who don't agree with it). neways, congrats to LP! i dunno, i like the lyrics to "Numb" better...
07. Lil' Kim ft 50 Cent - Magic Stick Her album, his fame . <!--QuoteBegin--fearphobic@Dec 31 2003, 01:01 PM oh god, ok, i do like "In Da Club" (the only song by 50 Cent that i acutally listen to) but it cannot qualify for good lyrics!! grrr
I got over the whole 'it's because of his monotone voice' thing after the first week of listening to 'Wanksta' but I still dont know the right lyrics to 'In Da Club'. On the world scale, those are 2 of the only rock songs that were really really big (world scale. that means not just the US or [enter state here]), and they sold more records than any other rock bands. Its natural that people who downloaded the songs/have bad memory/are too lazy to look in the liner notes would look to the internet to find lyrics.
07. Lil' Kim ft 50 Cent - Magic Stick Her album, his fame .
Thanks. I was thinking of the "P.I.M.P" video where he says "I've got the magic stick". it's not the quality of the songs, it's the popularity of them. and rap is more popular.
Um........those are the top 10 lyrical searches on Yahoo.com, not the actual placement of songs with the best lyrics.
it's not the quality of the songs, it's the popularity of them. and rap is more popular.
actually, i think its because the lyrics of rap songs are harder to understand than with rock songs. like the words in somewhere i belong are pretty clear but like not with sean paul and 50 cent and stuff. besides, the people who bought meteora already know the lyrics cuz theyre in the book thing.
does anyone here notice how LP is the only one who has talent on there? (besides missy elliot of course..her videos are awsome...and coldplay too) They are surrounded with RAP! THE TORTURE!!
Congrats to LP! 2 rock songs in there. Maybe there's still some hope for rock music. And wo Sean Paul songs on the top 10 search. I'm not surprised either. That guy speaks in a totally different language. Worst lyrics ever. R Kelly songs have the theme of "humping in the backseat" running through them. LMAO Eww. lol
