You can't say you didn't see this coming. Dubstep originates from a mix of electronic music and dub. Dub is a sub-genre of Reggae. This is why I say Reggae is a correct music genre.
Top Songs of 2012 Yeah, at it again. I always find this a solid source for good music. Use this thread to post your top SONGS of 2012.

Papa Roach-Even If I Could (Part of The Avengers soundtrack, not sure if it will be on new CD) Pitbull-Back In Time (It's a guilty pleasure) Linkin Park-Lies Greed Misery (This song is like Blackout vs A Place For My Head, both favorites equal another one) Usher-Climax (Guilty pleasure too) Skrillex and Damian Marley-Make It Bun Dem
Add to my list: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (fuck "guilty pleasure". It's a damn good song.) Lupe Fiasco - Around My Way [Freedom Ain't Free] Replace the Jason Mraz song with his cover of The Freedom Song from his latest album. I have a few more on my 2012 list but they're in a gray area. The albums on which these songs reside were released this year, but the songs have been around since before the album. So there's that.
Call Me Maybe is great, a shame it inspired wave after wave of horrible unfunny joke for no other reason than it rhymed. I'm also digging Gym Class Heroes "Ass Back Home", despite GCH not producing anything else of value since 2005.
The Gloria Story - Adore Engel - One Good Thing Tenacious D - 39 (Seriously...) Marilyn Manson - No Reflection Serj Tankian - Cornucopia

Papa Roach - Even If I Could Linkin Park - Living Things (every track) P.O.D - Lost In Forever Taproot - A Golden Grey Celldweller - The Lucky One Deuce - Gravestone (old song that was remastered) Flo Rida - Whistle Usher - Climax (guilty)
I was coming into this thread especially to mention "Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)" by SSPU. That build-up to the first chorus is so great, and when it gets there, it does not disappoint. I haven't heard a more catchy hook in a couple of years honestly.
