Not only that, he's also a judge in Australia's version of 'The Voice' (a massive TV show hit here) which probably boosted his popularity up and gained more fans
"LIVING THINGS has now been officially released in over 90% of the world". HA. This is the people from the 10% of the world speaking.
The reason Hybrid Theory was as successful as it was, was because it was an excellent album. Sure they became decidedly less mainstream sounding as they got older (with the exception of their 2nd album) but HT is now going on 12 years old, and it's still the only album I own from that decade that still sounds as fresh to me today as it did back then, and truly feels "timeless". There's something rare about that CD, where everything came together just right and worked perfectly. Will LT or ATS be that way in 10 years? No one can tell, but I can tell you that HT deserves all the accolades/sales it's received and more. It's still my favorite LP album, followed closely by ATS and then LT.
"Linkin Park's "Living Things" secures the band its fifth No. 1 on the chart. In the span of time since 2000 -- when Linkin Park debuted on the Billboard 200 -- no other band has had more No. 1 albums." I'm happy to see that Living Things and Linkin Park made Number 1!
Well done, LP. I'm happy we beat Maroon 5, and I'm sure this album will continue to sell over the course of the next year, especially when they drop LOST IN THE ECHO as a single (sounds like old LP), and when they're doing the Honda tour. That is going to be a big tour. I think this album has the potential to beat ATS sales wise. So basically, Hybrid Theory was the highest selling LP record, obviously. What was the second? I know MTM did sell a lot of copies when it came out.
