Do you think the song would've been just as amazing if Mike didn't change up Brads guitar part? Listening to "oh no", I still feel the Hybrid Theory EP sound in it. I DONT KNOW, but I've had Points of Authority on repeat all day and I can't get enough of Chester's layered vocals in the chorus. What's every one think?
I also love that song. Chester's chorus is epic! And I think that song is good how it is. I would never change I think about it 'cause it's in my opinion a perfect song.
One of my favorite LP songs ever. After many years I'm still not bored of that sick guitar riff. And yep, superb performance from Chester on that song!
I have been listening to POA since 2000 and have never gotten sick of it yet. I love the vocals and the riff, the lyrics are also kind of cool. Great classic LP song.
To me HT songs have never gotten old. But some songs stick out more now while others such as By Myself I don't like as much as others anymore. POA is a great song that I think I will never get tired of.
I think it's horrible. The lyrics are sophomoric, the presence of guitars is a clear detriment, and it doesn't quite turn me on as much as Chester's later, hammy, lady-boner singing does a la Shadow of the Day. Now, that song! TRULY ONE OF A KIND! NO OTHER BAND COULD WRITE THAT ONE! GO LP! HYBRID THEORY SUX
I agree, just tired of reading some parts of this forum. I really need to hunt down the demo with "reap what you sow" line. I had that track back in 2002, but over the years, I have lost nearly all of my LP demos. It's really quite sad. I just found the LPU2.0 CD the other day, so that was exciting. But I really do miss alot of it. For instance, I no longer have HTEP, High Voltage Remix (the one included on the Frat Party DVD), or this version of Points. I'm going to go in the corner and cry. FOr realz.
If you're tired of it, you don't have to bother reading it or even post for that matter. You can find that demo of POA, and a lot of other demos in a torrent somewhere if you use them. Maybe somebody on ebay has them as well.
I've got that version of the song. I'm awful with computers / technology, though, so I'm not sure how I could share it with you.
The "Reap what you so" version is on the 6-Track demo just released by the LPA, its on the front page!
Nah that's one of the other 4 thousand POA demos lol. The one he's talking about is the one commonly referred to as Vertical Limit, I presume.
