HA yeah. I posted about this on the fuckyeahlinkinpark tumblr last week. Of course a couple people got upset, as they do on tumblr. But it is mindblowing isn't it? Just how hard she's sold out?
I'd be a hypocrite if I were to disapprove of her change. I like Lady Gaga and she was also extremely different once she obtained a stage name and popularity. I'll just say that I prefer Holly Brook to Skylar Grey, though this isn't awful.
I don't call her a sellout 'till I heard the whole album. Remember what happened with Burn It Down/Living Things. But yeah, this song sucks, I mean it's catchy but after all those amazing songs she wrote this is the best lyrics she can do? Damn, Em changed her. But I have still hopes for the album.
It's a joke. She even says it in the song. I think it's funny, although I prefer her stuff under the Holly Brook name. I wasn't surprised when I heard Eminem came on and reworked and executive produced her album. I didn't have much faith in Alex da Kid (ugh, that name...)
I liked this song. I thoroughly enjoyed it more than her usual stuff. Can someone tell me exactly how this song portrays that she's a sell-out?
I've been saying this chick was a sell out since day one and no one else could see it, for some reason. When she was trying to gain sympathy by "quitting music", because she couldn't get a record deal, then changing everything about herself as an artist and her stage persona to get one. Everything about her screams fake, but some people will always like her no matter what, whether it's because they think she's good or because of her association with Shinoda, etc.
Yeah... This is about as much of a parody as Korn's "Y'all Want A Single" was a rebellion against their label. Don't try to bash shitty music by making shitty music.
That's how I feel as well. There's a fine line between parodying something and being the thing you're trying to parody.
