No ATS is an album pretty sure and it's not their best album. ATS is a great album no doubt but LP's best work nah. Yes it's your opinion to say ATS is their best album, you have a hole on your face talk about it on your forum.
Then a case could be made that giant chunks of "ATS the song" are boring as hell and bring down the track as a whole. At any rate, Castle of Glass isn't their best song by a longshot.
The five best in LT are In My Remains, Roads Untraveled, Castle of Glass, Powerless and Skin to Bone in my opinion. LITE could of been better. As could the rest of LT
I'd argue that "Castle of Glass" is one of the best songs on the album - but it's not their best song to date. I'd have to leave that title to "The Catalyst."
If that was directed at me, I wasn't talking about the song's length, so much as it had great potential that was never realized. It starts sounding good. Then the chorus comes in and it just doesn't have any emotion in it. I keep waiting for it to ramp up and it doesn't. After the beginning builds interest the song just stalls. It's like it comes in and then doesn't do anything special and then it just........ ends.
I love the appreciation that The Catalyst is getting in this thread. I also truly believe it is still easily their best song to date. As for Castle of Glass, I'd put it in the top 5 for sure. And I will say that the music video is LP's best by a long shot.
i can list a lot of songs better than CoG: Faint, Breaking the habit, Waiting for the end, From the inside, Lost in the echo, When they come for me, papercut, in the end, In my remains etc. So, my answer is, no. But the preferences are subjective...
Me too: Papercut, With You, Points Of Authority, Crawling, In The End, Faint, Breaking The Habit, What I've Done, In Pieces, Burning In The Skies, When They Come For Me, In My Remains, High Voltage, And One, Part Of Me, Step Up, Lockjaw, My December...and most of Reanimation But, yeah, it's all subjective.
Sorry but most of this songs is just much worse than COG. POA, Faint, BTH, HV, And One, Part of Me and especially Lockjaw are just stupid fun songs compared to Castle of Glass.
You say I don't know nothing about music when you said that Faint or Breaking The Habit is better then CoG. Ok. Clearly you don't know nothing about real music.
I don't have to defend BTH because it's obviously a great song with great lyrics and awesome production. Although Faint is not as serious or pretentious, it doesn't mean that it it's less good than Castle of Glass. Faint succeeds at what it tries to do. It has a memorable riff and chorus, a lot of energy and a great beat. It's supposed to be a fun stupid song, and it is. On a scale of 1 to 10 of fun stupid songs level, it's a 9. On the other hand Castle of Glass is not a 9 in its own category.
