If I recall correctly, he was offered to try out for the vacant vocalist position a while ago (even before Corey Taylor tried out) but couldn't because LP were in the middle of preparing to tour in support of ATS. It would be awesome but between LP's and Slash's schedules I doubt it could happen.
Linkin Park are writing an album together. Chester is not leaving the band. End of story. This does explain why they're not touring till next year however. Chester knows what he's doing. He isn't leaving LP he's just managing his time.
Very very cool, and came completely out of fucking nowhere. But Joe's signature is still more awesome.
^Actually sounded pretty good live. Oh, and could someone recommend me some STP songs? I've honestly never heard anything.
Haha, how random is this? Not too big of a fan of Stone Temple Pilots, me but good luck to the collaboration!
I also think there's no way that this isn't a full blown side project. On top of the obvious hints like the promotional art, the way Chester has been talking makes it sound like he's in the band.
http://www.chesterbnetwork.com/2013/05/video-chester-talks-stone-temple-pilots/ Chester confirms he is the new lead singer of STP, not just a fill-in. Scott's out. Possibly a new album and tour coming.
So we'll get a new LP album, "The Mall" Soundtrack/Score and (possibly) a STP album with Chester. Awesome.
I just simply love how Chester talks about his commitment to Linkin Park and how he would not sacrifice LP to do something outside of LP, that's my favorite quote of the video. I'm really happy he gets to accomplish what is probably an "unlikely dream to have", I mean, you can love a band and be a fan forever but you realistically don't set up "being their frontman" as a goal in life, so I'm glad that he got this opportunity, I like how the members of STP approached to him and embrace him as part of the band, and how Linkin Park members support eachother on each one of their own endeavours. Who would've known the real glue of Linkin Park was their creative expansion with other projects?
Their album "Core" is an absolute 90's classic Great to hear Chester has officially become their new singer, must be awesome for him!
I love how there are still people who believe that Chester might leave Linkin Park because of this. They probably also panic whenever Shinoda does paintings for charity events Chester and other band members have done so many things outside of the band over the years but, no, this is clearly the one that'll break them up! The fact that the band members take breaks from LP and stretch their creative muscles in different ways with side-projects has obviously played a big part in the band's longevity.
I heard their new single "Out of Time" last night. I never heard about STP but I love that song! Sounds like he's travelling back to the Grey Daze era.
To name a few of their biggest hits: Plush (my favorite song by them), Interstate Love Song, Vaseline, Creep, Wicked Garden, Big Bang Baby, Trippin On A Hole In A Paper Heart, Dead And Bloated, Sex Type Thing, All In The Suit That You Wear
The level of pessimism in this thread is too damn high! Seriously people, there is literally nothing to worry about.
