I think I'm gonna enjoy this a lot. Indeed what Dead By Sunrise should've been. It slightly reminds me of Grey Daze at times. Same On The Inside sounds wonderful.
Doesn't sound bad at all. I really hope it's not like DBS:OOA where I thought it was amazing for a week and then mediocre ever after.
Wow, these tracks sound great. It really does have a DBS feel. Very glad, this sound comes so naturally and I gotta agree, Same on the Inside is amazing.
Out of the songs we still haven't heard in full, Cry Cry sounds the best to me. Verse is damn groovy there. On the other side, I'm not a fan of the "Same on the Inside" preview. The vocal harmonies in this song totally makes me think of DBS, and those harmonies were one of the things I disliked about that band. They're also the reason why I don't like the second verse of "Powerless". I just don't like the way Chester voice sounds when it's used like that.
Exactly. The production is so much better. Very raw, which would have been a great fit for the DBS songs. The songwriting is also way better in my opinion. Great unusual chord progressions, strong melodies and groovy riffs. I love to hear Chester finally getting the chance to show off his rock 'n' roll-talent. All in all I'm very excited to hear the full thing. Sounds like a very solid release.
I think the two songs they released wheren't as good as the rest of the EP, I can't wait for Cry Cry and Same On The Inside.
I just like that these tracks don't sound processed to hell. No offense to Chester but that's why I haven't listened to Out of Ashes in a long time. The album sounded robotic in spots with how polished it was. These tracks are raw, and really show off Chester's range. And his lyrics/melodies are pretty good. Same On The Inside is some of Chester's best songwriting to date especially the "like angels built on good intentions" line.
Same on the Inside is just brilliantly sung by Chester. I cannot believe how well he has done that song. His vocals are so properly presented. I want a LP song like that! People seem to be forgetting "The Messenger" which was a well done song by Chester. But its true that LP hasn't fully utilized his vocal range. LP's albums from MTM helped shape his voice but he hasn't used it properly. I want the next LP album to have one song for each band member that represents their strengths. Like Rob should have a song that shows his drumming skills, Brad should pull off a huge solo in another song, Chester should belt out his full vocal range on another and so on. THAT would be the best album ever from LP.
I was a bit hesitant after hearing Black Heart, but some of the other songs sound really great. Is there going to be a physical release for this? If so I'll pick it up for sure.
