I have a feeling the movie will come out in October around Halloween.

 

Well Mike posted a photo of being on location while the film was being shot around the time BID was getting released. April 25, precisely.



And then on May 9th, 2012 they had some LPU members on location:

So I'd say shooting was done a loooong time ago.

 

Can't wait for the movie but at that time he had that, "Wish it was the game look on this face." lol

I think it's very likely that a single will come out of this. Thing is we don't know what kind of music they are coming out with in this project, but I'd be nice to hear some darker stuff for a change.

 

Another possibility is that a collaboration or two could come out of this. Remember when Mike did the score for The Raid, it was billed all along as being Mike/Joe Trapanese doing all the work, then at the last minute we found out we were getting collaborations with Get Busy Committee and Chino Moreno for the two tracks with vocals. Just because all of the information we have right now amounts to "LP is doing the film score" doesn't mean another Razors Out-esque track is out of the question.

 

LP music always comes first. Unless you want to sing for STP.

I really want to see something like Razors.Out on there. Such an amazing song, and I'd love to hear more like it. Obviously we're not going to get Chino Moreno to come out for all the singing songs (which I think was confirmed that there would be a few, but mostly instrumentals).

 

As long as it isn't some trendy EDM.

 

I wasn't aware that Chester doing STP was interfering with LP? Has LP or Mike or anyone ever stated that LP music comes second to STP? I don't think so. STP is awesome, Chester is out having fun with a band that he has loved for most of his life. Give him a break. LP music will come soon enough. LIVING THINGS was released just last year. I don't want another LP album for like 2 years, but I know there will be one in 2014, so calm down. Mike and Brad write the majority of most of LP's music anyways, it's not like with Chester touring with STP, it somehow stops the writing for the next LP album.

ANYWAYS, I think we will get a cool single out of this movie, probably. Maybe some collaborations and stuff, who knows. I think the movie will be good.

 

Interesting news! I hadn't heard of this movie / soundtrack before but I'm definitely looking forward to it. This inspired me to listen to The Raid soundtrack again. I think it's okay but not the kind of music I enjoy the most. It'll be interesting to see whether LP comes up with similar stuff or something totally different. I, too, think that the movie is going to be great! Joe has already proven his talent in the music videos he's directed.

 

^Yeah, the most recent interview makes it sound like the movie's been done for a while and they're just shopping it around, trying to find a distribution deal for it. I think it's at the point now where the next update we hear about it will be the release announcement...which could be next month, it could be in two years. Unfortunately, that's Hollywood for you.

 

It could be one of the 'close to 20 things' planned for next year.

 

Joe posted the first screenshot in a while today. Not some news, just nice to know it's still in production or something.

 

Definitely. Been a while that we've gotten anything at all.

 

He also commented saying something along the lines of "it's coming."

 

Grrr I want to see the movie and hear the soundtrack so bad. The best part about the soundtrack is that we get to see Linkin Park be instrumentally creative at their peak. No claims of them being "sell-outs," just Linkin Park making some great tracks for a movie.
