What the title says. Any ideas you guys have for the inevitable music video for GATS? I honestly have no idea what to expect or want from it.
I'd like them have a "live" setup and play in a chaotic environment ala From The Inside. And maybe have some side stories, those things that could apply to the song, corporations, media, etc... And please, like in the album art, no Ghost Town Media plz. And it would be awesome if it was filmed like the Powerless video, I loved the image quality and effects there.
This. I also want a live-like video, which also has some kind of story. Although I wouldn't really mention FTI, as we already have SOTD, which was like Chester-only night-time From The Inside.
What I imagine is the band on a caotic planet, or somewhere near a volcano, some lakes vaporizing, giant waterfalls, big rocks. The alien moons on the sky and it's almost near the night. The band is performing through flames and a lot of smoke. Chester and the guys are moving like on a live performance, sometimes the camera catches him dancing and singing in an epic way. And the REAL shit happens is when Rakim appears... Space ships start to destroy and colonize the location, destroing the woods and the giants rock waterfalls.
First thing to come to mind is the Given Up music video, which I absolutely dread, so that's not the direction I'd want. I'd probably want them to do something similar to Not Alone's music video. A compilation of them recording the track in studio, perhaps mixed with pro footage of a live show, and additional clips of random material showing off a dark vibe on human lives, perhaps war or violent protests as well as dirty politicians and corrupt business leaders responsible for those things in the first place like Andrew Carnegie or members of the Central Powers during WW1. Video footage that isn't the band would be in black and white.
I haven't enjoyed a single LP video since a long long time ago. So I don't really care about it anymore.
I imagine a set piece with all the band members and Rakim pretending to play the song on top of the set piece in front of a green screen Of course Rakim will be dressed up as a king and Mike Shinoda will in fact not kiss that ring.
Ghost Town Media put up a thing on their Facebook recently saying they're working on the Carnivores tour, so maybe they'll be involved with the music videos as well. I can't see them making a CGI heavy one for this song (if they do at all, this might just be an LGM type dealie, with the actual first single coming out later). The super digital music videos of late make sense in the context of the music being electronic-y. With an organic and raw song like this, I get the feeling a live performance/band playing video would be most likely. Or this.
I would like a ''live band'' style music video again with a bunch of cool effects and an interesting theme.
