They played ''A Whisper'' for the first time ever today. Never thought it'd happen. Anyone have a link to the Making Of? That's what I want the most.
I wonder if there's truth to the follow-up EP/album next year. While I like GS, it's clear the band included songs with a very specific tone in mind (with ASFOS being an obvious exception perhaps due to the label wanting a radio hit). I'm sure they wrote songs they were more familiar with writing, which the track Ghost Story is definitely an example of. I'd love to hear that album.
You misunderstand. I like their music, I just don't like their actions upon mainstream success. I'm actually planning on buying the Deluxe Edition of Night Visions soon.
I have mixed feelings on a studio album as soon as next year. I mean, Justin Timberlake had a two-part album last year. Part 1 was great and gave a lot of hype for Part 2, which ended up...not bad per se, but disappointing.
It would be nice, but I'm not sure how I would feel about it. As long as it doesn't feel rushed, then I have no problem with it. They haven't put out an album (Regardless if you like the album or not) that's not well-made. As for what I would want the album to be, I wouldn't mind something a little less depressing for one, hopefully something a bit more grand and a little less personal. Something that's more upbeat, the type of album you would play at a packed stadium. I'm not saying MX part 2, hell no. I like that album, but I'd hope for something with a little less EDM next time. I mean something that's bubbly and upbeat like MX, but without the synths and electronics. Or maybe even something adventurous like Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. I wouldn't be surprised if they were working on GS and their next album simultaneously, or at least directly after the completion of GS so it'd make sense for the next album to come out next year. GS has a low-key feeling, I can see them working on something bigger while making GS. They haven't made an album yet that I didn't like so I'm sure I'll be fine with whatever they put out.
Think about it. MX tour ended in late 2012, and then they took a break (we don't know how long, but I imagine it was until early 2013.) They obviously did some stuff on the tour, but most of the work was done in the past year. They probably have a ton of leftovers right now too. And maybe not even bad ones, just ones that didn't fit on GS sonically or lyrically, as we can see the album has a theme running through it. Coldplay's tour for GS ends in June, it went on for 6 shows across 2 months, unlike the MX tour which was intense and lasted over a year. The band probably doesn't even feel tired. If they decide not to go on tour further, the band can just go back into the studio, work on a new album for a year, and put it out October/November. It would frankly be awesome.
In the interview with Zane Lowe he let out that they had done a song with Madeon which didn't fit on GS at all.

Jesus, Paparazzis are fucking annoying. I know if I was in that position, I would have not handled that well AT ALL.
Damn, what a fucking guy. I'd have gone Kanye all over them if I were in his position. Yet all he did was smile and joke around like he was talking to friends. Mad respect for the guy.
