My friend had this interesting take on a kind of "story" being told in THP (based on officially released songs and titles, been avoiding specific descriptions). I don't know if this is applicable to all of them since I haven't heard all the lyrics, but it seems pretty cool:

KTTK - Starting a country, getting the keys to the kingdom, something of that nature
All for Nothing - realizing the country isn't good or is becoming corrupt
GATS - Cry out against the corruption
The Summoning - building up resistance, calm before the storm type thing
War - War against the country
Wastelands - After math of the war
UIG/Rebellion - regretting the war. or just realizing things aren't so bad after all
Mark the Graves - remembering those lost in the war
Drawbar - Since it's an intsrumental, I think the name refers to the way it joins songs together (drawbar is a thing that attaches trailers to trucks I think).
Final Masquerade - More regret, everyone is sad, no one can pretend anymore
ALITS - A line in the sand usually marks territory, or an agreement basically, to not cross over and start another war.

What do you think? I might not read into the replies because I don't want spoilers from those who have heard them all, lol. But I think it would be pretty cool, considering the lyrics also work at a personal/relationship level, AND there's the whole other meaning some of it has about the state of rock music turning pop and all that.

Also, I don't know how you want to define "concept" album, I kinda just put that, don't attack me.

Sounds good to me! I like it more than the ATS concept.

Interesting view. Like you, I haven't seen or heard all the lyrics, so can't really make a valid comment either way on this. An underlying story, however would be great.

cool idea, but its very unlikely that its true. we need to know the lyrics before assuming anything

Partially. Obviously war & politics inspired, I love how the drumming is march-like through the most of the album.

While the album may not be concept in the most technical sense, I feel as though it carries a bold and powerful message nonetheless.

Don't know where to put this but I think some of the lyrics on this site is wrong:
    Like on ALITS:
    You can try intimidation,
Or you can try to roar,
But when the time comes calling,
Yeah! You are gonna get yours!

    Sounds more like:
    You can try intimidation,
Or you can try to ignore,
But when the time comes calling,
Yeah! You are gonna get yours!

It has sort of a concept feel to me. ALITS clearly has GATS in there (and Victimized) and there are some lyrics from Rebellion in it as well. ALITS is kind of like what The Catalyst was for ATS.

I think your idea of the concept is pretty accurate but think of it towards the genre of music. LP has said numerous times what inspired this album was the lack of hard rock in the rock genre. So I think its them standing their ground in the genre of today's rock music
