I gave it a 7 as I'm not a fan of GATS, War and Wastelands. I think a few other songs could have been better (UIG needed better lyrics and All For Nothing is ruined by Chester's random shouts, imo). I do think it's a good, solid album but it falls short of being my favourite LP album (ATS, muthafuckers).
A lot of the songs could have been a lot better. Give em a little more room to breathe. The Hunting Party is nowhere near ATS, imo. But that's not necessary though. But Until It's Gone and Wastelands really drag the album at least one point down for me. Keys to the Kingdom is obviously a homage to Refused. But when referencing them why not going down the whole way and integrating some crazy minimal interlude-part (like in New Noise) in that song to let it breathe/evolve...
With KTTK, War, FM, ALITS, Rebellion and MTG, this album contains at least 6 damn good songs. The other songs are not that bad as well so how can you possibly say it's only worth 7/10? Anyway, here's my opinion: Keys To The Kingdom - 10 All For Nothing - 8,5 Guilty All The Same - 8 The Summoning - 6 War - 10 Wastelands - 7,5 Until It's Gone - 7 Rebellion - 9 Mark The Graves - 9 Drawbar - 7,5 Final Masquerade - 10 A Line In The Sand - 10 Total: 8,54/10 so that becomes a 9/10 for me.
I too am waiting for LP 7 purely because I am a massive Linkin Park fan so The Hunting Party will have to carry me over lol. Waiting for the End is the only song I have given 10/10
8/10 A really great Album with some downs (UIG, not using Toms full Potential, MTG (In the moment) and some really good heavie Tracks (WAR,REBELLION,KTTK) and i really nice ballade (FM). This album will defintly get more listen than Living Things.
9/10 The stronger songs make up for the weaker ones. This album is solid. Its like something I never knew I was missing. I'm on the ATS bandwagon but fuck that album is delicious! Rock on
Since I don't like ATS all that much, I vastly prefer this album. Mark The Graves is a hell of a competitor for my all time favorite song by the band.
I listened to the FLAC version of the album. It's way better, but still not THAT great. Still an 8/10 to me.
