I've been thinking, and I believe that BID would've been a lot, lot better choice to be on THP than UIG. Honestly, the guys could've redone some of the instrumentation on BID and it'd fit great on THP. Maybe changed the lyrics a little as well, but the message of BID seems to be very carnivorous. Just imagine a guitar heavy/not as poppy version of BID in the place if UIG. I think it'd work well.
You mean if BID sounded something like this it could fit on THP? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEtM_4s1--M
I think Victimized fits well on the album. I put it on the album after War, and it transitions into Wastelands perfectly.
Good god no... Burn It Down is basically the poppy crap the band wanted to hunt down in this album. Even Until It's Gone sounds heavy in comparison.
I'm going to be so happy once THP's album cycle is over just so I don't have to keep seeing buzzwords like "Carnivorous" and "Visceral."
Yeah, it wouldn't fit, but holy shit, BID is a hundred times better than UIG, so it would have been better if it was on there instead of UIG.
Hell no, I would pick Until It's Gone over Burn It Down any day. As for Basement Alchemy's cover, it also wouldn't fit.
Not sure if I would really agree with putting BURN IT DOWN on The Hunting Party. Although, I would agree that "Until It's Gone" shouldn't have been on this album.
The only way BID could have been on THP was if it was drastically changed in terms of its instrumentation. Take away nearly all of the electronic elements (including the largely electronic drums) and strip Chester of his "perfect" polished vocals to make them more raw. The song definitely has its aggressive moments in the Chorus and in Mike's rap, so it somewhat shows the spirit of THP. Come to think of it, BID could have sounded really awesome as a raw, organic hard rock song with a blistering lead guitar and a prominent bass line, along with in-your-face drums. Although we don't have a version like this, at least there's Hann with Gun's remix, which is the most rock-like out of all the remixes I've heard.
They built BID up and they would break it (ALL) back down to TRY to fit on THP. UIG really fits on the album, in my opinion. It fits just like PMA on Hybrid Theory, No more sorrow on Minutes to Midnight or Until It's gone on Living Things.
