I thought it would grow on me, but it hasn't at all yet. I hate the "1, 2, 3, 4", it sounds so cheesy. And the whole raw sound is overdone imo, like, it just makes me frustrated that I'm not hearing things more "clearly". And the lyrics are cheesy imo, and they don't mean anything to me. Easily my least favorite song on the album, the only one I'm compelled to skip.
It's my least favorite song on the album, just passed A Line in the Sand. I can't get myself to like it, and I always find myself skipping it after Rebellion to get to Final Masquerade. That worst part is I expected it to be a lot better.. With a name like "Mark the Graves", thought it'd be heavy nostalgic rap rock song.
I like the countdown as that adds something fun to the song, and the instrumentation is great, but I still don't really care for this one very much.
Love it, but then I like progressive sounding lengthy songs. Those of you who contends that it drags on; how can that be when the song isn't the same the entire way through it? Not a fan of songs that exceed 3 minutes or what?
For me Mark The Graves on The Hunting Party is like: Hit The Floor on Meteora In Between on Minutes To Midnight Wisdom, Justice And Love and Fallout on A Thousand Suns I'll Be Gone, Skin To Bone and Until It Breaks on Living things I never skip MTG, but it sounds boring to me. I usually play it when I'm talking to someone and I'm not paying attention to the background music.
When THP first came out, I wasn't sure what to think of Mark The Graves. Now I like it to the point of being one of my favorite songs off of the album.
The intro is too long. I think the verse sounds like the outro part of Blackout. I like that part. Also, the name stood out to me. What type of name is that?
