The great debate which has been known for many years, LP has good soft songs and good heavy song
so which do you prefer soft or heavy?

They have good songs of both, but I just enjoy the soft ones better. Waiting for the End, Roads Untraveled, Blackbirds, Powerless, Shadow of the Day, Robot Boy, etc... All awesome.

Depends. There are more soft songs I actually like than heavy songs, but the heavy songs I do like are way above my fav soft songs. I really can't decide.

I don't like the idea of separating the two. It's all the same band.

Splitting the 'soft' and 'heavy' is pointless as their ability to do both brilliantly is what makes LP

I dunno why there are so many negative responses on this thread. I will go heavy. Given Up, Keys to the Kingdom, and A Line in the Sand are all some of my favorite LP songs. But more then that, IMO some of their songs would have been better without their soft parts and if they just would have made it all super heavy -- songs like By Myself and Blackout. Their soft songs are good too though, and weirdly enough, the only songs I actually like (as opposed to tolerating) on LT are soft -- Tinfoil/Powerless and Roads Untraveled.

Soft to Medium. I hate, totally HATE people who thinks the heavier the music, the "better". Especially metal fanboys (or girls?) who are always hating on LP.

The reason why LP is my favorite artist of all time, is because they are perfect, not too heavy nor too soft. But my favorite songs from LP are usually the soft ones, Iridescent, LOATR, SOTD, Final Masquerade, Castle of Glass, Waiting For The End, Burning In The Skies, etc.

There are also those people who tend to think that "the softer, the better",

Just as annoying, if not more.

The only annoying "opinion" for me is , people who call ATS crap because they dont like it. I am in some other forums and they totally hate anything after Meteora.

True. Its pissing off. I would mind if they had any actual criticism of ATS or MTM. 100% of the time they'll say something like 'LP went to shit after Meteora'. I guess LP doesn't need those kind of fans anyways. Yeah, I should be happy with proper fans and ignore them I guess. After all, the band doesn't seem to care.
