Like the melody a lot but the lyrics were a bit underwhelming. It seemed more like random lines they'd write for demos. I get what they were trying to go for with the lyrics but it could have been better. But this in no way tops THP, in my opinion. It's been 3 months and I still love listening to the entire album from start to finish.
In all honesty i am just in it for the soundtrack. I am probably not gonna watch the movie just gimme the damn songs and i'll be happy. im sure many of you feel the same way
Seriously in what world are these considered actual lyrics? Surely this is an unfinished demo, I think if these songs were fully developed then there would be an official release for the "Mall" soundtrack.
Some nice sounds there and there, and a good vocal performance. That's about it though. The track is really monotomous.
^True. Sometimes a track like this one will hit me as "beautiful / reflexive / smooth", and other times as "monotomous / boring". I guess it all depends on little details, or maybe even on my mood.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the title of this song indicate it's just gonna be playing over the credits of the film while everyone is shuffling out of their seats in the cinema? If that's so, it doesn't really need to be some kind of lyrically incredible song with the greatest guitar riff of all time, does it?
Hmm this sounds a lot slower than the version used in the movie. By the way, I still think the source of this is the Mall release from France (albeit with some odd adjustment). If you hear how the song is placed within the movie and in the credits, you can see how both sections could be spliced together to remove the character voices and give you a complete track.
It is played during the closing credits, but it's also used during the final act of the film. But, still, you are right. With music made for a film soundtrack, mood and sonics are more important than anything else. Depends on your tastes.
Overall, I saw a very good song and its definitely a nice change from the Hunting Party. Love how Linkin Park can really go into both sides of spectrum with their music.
Even without the sound comparison, this is not better than any of the soft songs they made. [**IMO**]
