    Hey guys.

I am not the first person that feel a little taste of the Blackout melody in some parts of Mark the graves, right?

I realized that the progression AND the tempos are exactly the sames. The question is: May MTG be a brother or some debris from a old demo of Blackout? Just like Tinfoil, Primo, and A line in the sand that was ''recycled''

I've made a Mashup of the Blackout vocals and MGT Instrumental, for those who do not see the similarity, here we go:

Can't say I've ever noticed it, but that Mashup was one of the coolest things I heard... Almost tops everything on Hunting Party to me for a few reasons o-o

Why do people constantly over-exaggerate this comparison? There's ONE part of Mark the Graves (the D-E progression in the verses and a couple other spots) that sounds like ONE part of Blackout (the arpeggiated synth part at the start of the outro). Both songs cover entirely different territory in their other sections.

Yeah, I don't feel like listening to the mash-up right now, but the two songs vastly differ.

They are definitely different songs (though more maybe alike then I realized), however that mashup sounds great.

I can't see any link between these songs, when i hear them seperately from each other. And to be honest, this mash-up doesn't fit to me, except the last part, which is ok.

Im not over-exaggerating (or this is not my real ideia), Astat.

Im just comparising, the songs fits like all other little things in LP, but in this case it's a little bit more evident, just Like I see evidences between Fallout and ALITS intro/outro.

For those who liked the mashup, thank you, guys. Maybe I'll release a little EP with Blackout/MTG, MTG/Blackout, Apaches/Three Band Terror and Castle of Glass Clip/original/Mike remix versions, Ill post when its done.

I'd guess that this thread was created just to plug the mash-up, so, on some level, people deliberately exaggerate the similarities in order to get some traction for their remixes

I prefer this better than the original. I find Mark The Graves slightly boring. Sorry MTG fans.

That's a good idea, I never thought about that.

I'll do it, but it's a little bit harder because MTG vocal extrutures it's more compacts

I understand your assumption, but I noticed the little similarity (super-ultra-over-exageratting) and thats was the reason that I've done this simple mashup. If this was a mistake, please let me know!

Its not so much that they're the same it's more that they have the same form. Linkin Park has chord progressions that are so similar (pushing me away and numb for example) it's prolly the case here
