With the school year beginning, I'm gonna be doing maths/physics plus writing history and geography lesson in short, and I do all this stuff while listening to music. I prefer instrumental music in this case. And if I keep this up, Ghosts I-IV and The Social Network OST are going to be the only music I hear. Apart from that, I know two God Is An Astronaut albums, and... well that's pretty much it. So, I need recommendations for instrumental stuff. Be it bands or OSTs, gimme anything. Generic dubstep and EDM not accepted. Thanks in advance.
OST: Jeff Beal - House of Cards Brian Reitzell - Hannibal Bear McCreary - Battlestar Galactica Vangelis - Blade Runner (Esper Edition) Vengelis - Chariots of Fire Hans Zimmer - Man of Steel Howard Shore - The Lord of the Rings (Complete Editions) John Williams - Jurassic Park John Williams - Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope Instrumental Albums: Wolves in the Throne Room - Celestite Deadmau5 - While (1<2) [Mixed] Daft Punk - Alive 2007 Awaken the Echoes - Travels LP Animals as Leaders - The Joy of Motion Angel Vivaldi - Away With Words, Pt. 1 Liquid Tension Experiment - Liquid Tension Experiment
Not sure if it's your cup of tea, but I loved listening to Bohren & der Club of Gore's album Black Earth when I studied. Dark ambient music with a strong downtempo and jazz influence.
Nils Frahm - Screws and Spaces Screws is a piano-only album and my favorite of the two. Spaces is a bit like Ghosts I-IV in that it's an OST to nothing in particular Oh, and a live performance by him for the hell of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_1uGnqFGME
I don't know if you will like it but I always listen to it while I work.

if you dig "The Social Network", I highly recommend Cliff Martinez' soundtrack for "Contagion" Martinez' score for "Drive" is pretty cool too Paul Leonard-Morgan's "Dredd" soundtrack Daft Punk: "TRON: Legacy R3C0NF1GUR3D" The Glitch Mob: "Drink The Sea" Air's soundtrack for "The Virgin Suicides", which is really chill "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" soundtrack by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Thomas Newman's soundtrack for "American Beauty" lastly, I also second Gibs' suggestion of Deadmau5' album "while(1<2)"
London Philharmonic Orchestra's "Greatest Video Game Music 1 & 2" Any Elder Scrolls Soundtrack Any Two Steps From Hell album
I don't really listen to soundtracks, but as far as instrumental rock goes I would recommend: sleepmakeswaves (progressive rock) or Damage Vault (industrial) or Parhelia (alternative rock) or Rob Dougan's instrumental mix of his album (orchestral) or Blue Stahli's antisleep albums (electronic based, decent range) or Little People (instrumental hip-hop, whatever that means) or my personal favorite, Vitamin String Quartet.
