    The Contortionist - Language

Picked this up for 9 bucks at BestBuy yesterday. This is my first time listening to this band. Pretty well done Prog "Pretty" Metal, thought at times, it can be a wee generic. I feel like I'm listening to Animals As Leaders or Periphery, rather than a truly unique sound at some points. A recommendation none-the-less.

    Highlights:

    Language
    Primordial Sound
    Ebb & Flow
    The Parable

    Queen of the Damned: OST

Pretty solid lineup of talent here, Chester Bennington performs a song, other artists include Disturbed, Papa Roach, Deftones, Marilyn Manson, Earshot, Dry Cell, Static-X and Jonathan Davis of Korn

Pre-Ordered Yellowcard's "Lift a Sail", after molesting myself with the leak for a few days now... This takes their entire sound to a whole new level, with a very bright performance, the album rarely comes off a sort of space-soaring, high-flying, ethereal sound to it. The latter half of the album is definitely the highlight, "Fragile and Dear" and "Illuminate" being my favourite little section. While this might only be suitable for people who can handle the more pop-punk, radio-esque style music, this is just an extremely well done album, and there's very little denying that, with a full listen. This is definitely a bit of a departure in a way for this band, with plenty of little electronic elements present, and a totally different vibe from a lot of their music. With sections reminiscent of Imagine Dragons and traditional punk-influenced tracks such as "The Deepest Well" (Which features Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire), and even songs that almost remind me of Owl City at times (One Bedroom, notably, which also features a beat similiar to NiN's "Closer"). Also, beautiful album-artwork.
