As an electronic music fan and an absolute beginner producer the opportunity to do something with dubstep is appreciated. Anyway, a taste of what i'm working on - https://soundcloud.com/djfeenix/mark-the-grave
Sorry but is plagiarism allowed? You neglected to mention anywhere that's a Celldweller track with the Blackout vocals chopped up and put on top. It is at best a mash-up which are not allowed this month. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql3g1BUVfJs
Hopefully my last words on the topic To be fair, there is no one at all who has shown any sign of disrespect as far as I can see (ignoring A Wretched King's comment about dubstep being a terrible choice which still isn't anything really worth complaining about). If you haven't done so, I'd suggest reading through the comments. Myself and some other members have only put in their 2 cents in a cconstructive manner and tossed in ideas. Don't see why the staff is getting hurt about suggestions suddenly popping in. Just a thought, but If we didn't give any feedback on the previous MMUs, it could be because some of us didn't know you were asking for some, I certainly wasn't aware of it.
Yea I think I'm in the same boat with Broman, it wasn't communicated to me that those running the MMUs were open to suggestions, it would be good to see some real dialogue happening on how those suggestions might be considered or whether any actions might come out of them. I'm content with this topic for the month. Great option for allowing the re-mixers to choose between Dubstep and Hardstyle, could bring about some interesting results Though I am looking forward to the results of this month, I'm also looking forward to see how the MMU will progress from now on considering the suggestions being offered.
The problem is that, it was communicated...and multiple times over the last few years at that. Now you're a newer member so you probably missed those opportunities, but for the others who have been here a while who took issue with this month's theme, they had every right to suggest themes over the last few years...at any time. We've always asked for suggestions, because it's actually extremely difficult to come up with new ideas every month to keep the contest fresh. That's how "Nu-Disco" and other themes came about. They actually stemmed from user suggestions. So going forward for everyone, let it be known: Suggestions are welcome at all times.
How about Swing, ElectroSwing, or Swing-Step? I'd be interested to see where those go. =) (new here so if there has already been one of these let me know!) (also, i'll go searching now to see if I can find anything)
It's really just their own opinion. I'm content with dubstep. It's hit or miss for me. Don't worry about what other people think about it, though. If you love dubstep, go ahead and love dubstep! EDIT: Also, love your name.
I could not care less about what you're saying but I'm gonna go ahead and believe you're the real Rikishi
ENTRY - https://soundcloud.com/djfeenix/mark-the-graves-feenix-remix (Please follow the link and download, Soundcloud has compressed the shit out of it.) This is the first fully fledged thing i've ever produced and I feel like i've finally tamed Massive & FM8. So thank you LPA for the choice of genre and giving me an excuse to get into this. I'm looking to produce music for a living and working on this has seriously helped me get moving along that journey.
Why is it always such basic and boring electronic music genres being chosen? There's so much that can be done, no offense. Dubstep being chosen again instead of something new is ridiculous
I think Derek said it some times here pretty good. There will be other themes in the next contest, dont worry
