Rob Bourdon will be stopping by the Linkin Park Underground chat on Monday, March 23rd at 12:30pm PST. In the chat you can get a chance to ask Rob questions concerning new Linkin Park material, the acoustic Final Masquerade they released, what is up with Rob and whatever question you can think of. This chat is exclusive to LPU members, and if you're not a member you can join right here Will you attend the chat? Come and discuss in our forums EDIT: Some of the most interesting bits below All the European shows has NOT been announced, so stay tuned. He likes the idea of doing an unplugged record or live show. They have talked about scaling down their live set-up so that they can jump into smaller venues and play more intimate sets with the fans. It is "very possible" they'll play Hybrid Theory in full again, if they do it will probably be towards the end of the year close to the 15 year anniversary of the album. "About Fort Minor rumors.. yes I can confirm there has been rumors about Fort Minor". He tells us to keep an eye out for that. They're talking about recapping their 15 years together. The strongest possibility being a book and hopefully there will be some result within two years. The band has been talking about when they should go back into the studio to make a new record, but currently they are planning the tour between May and "most of September". When making an album the lay out a rough timeline, but in the end it takes the time it takes. As of right now they don't know what the new album will sound like, everyone has their own idea of what it will be. But when they are in the studio it often changes and it ends up being what it evolved into. Source: LinkinPark.com
Or business hours in general. I don't think I've actually been able to make an LPU chat in at least 2 years...
Cool stuff! A book would be really neat too. I just wish they would release an album not during the summer. I don't know why, I just do.
Maybe we'll learn what project they started ATS in mind for, and other projects that fell through. Fingers crossed! I'd be buying the shit out of that book, too.
Rob answered my question on the chat. Josh410 (me): Hardest song to play live? Rob: "Rebellion is probably the hardest and most intense. There are a couple of others, but rebellion mostly." That's probably why rebellion got cut from the setlist during the start of the U.S. THP tour this year.
Rob's level of talent at his instrument probably exceeds that of the 4 other instrumentalists in Linkin Park combined. He's about the last reason they'd ever cut a song. Rob saying Rebellion is the hardest song to play and then being able to play it pretty much perfectly night after night isn't anything like Brad hyping up the guitar solo on In Pieces when MTM first came out and then completely blowing it every time they tried to play it live.
