Following last month's polarising glimpse into a studio session, Shinoda and co. returned just earlier today to provide fans another brief look into their music-making process for the upcoming album. The new two-minute video resulting from that stream shows them in the studio with Texas-born independent musician Conner Youngblood.

Some Linkin Park fans may remember Youngblood as one of the artists who performed at Music For Relief's "Relief Live" event late last year, as mentioned in this Instagram post from Shinoda. One of his songs, "The Birds Of Finland", also appeared on the 2015 "Download To Donate" compilation presented by Music For Relief.

More recently, he appeared alongside Mike Shinoda in a Pigeons & Planes article providing thoughts about a Kanye West song.

Filmed in Shinoda's unmistakable handheld style, the video shows some of Linkin Park's members watching on as Youngblood skillfully handles a Moog Theremini (which he naturally also utilises in his own music) to improvise lead melodies over a loop of new Linkin Park music in progress. What can be heard is an emotive mixture of ethereal pads and keyboards playing a simple two-chord progression, so fans of Linkin Park's calmer, more mellow tracks might have something to get excited about.

From the beginning of his output as a recording artist, the immensely-talented Conner Youngblood has proven himself capable with a laundry list of instruments, not to mention his singing - who knows what else he might contribute to Linkin Park's upcoming masterpiece?

You can check out the new footage on Facebook. Afterwards, give us all your thoughts about it on our message board!

Reminds me of the Living Things sound and the lead melody style I liken a bit to the bridge in "Welcome".

Does feel like there is some indie/folk influence in this track, I'm interested to hear how this sounds when its released.

Anybody figure out what Mike's hinting at by holding up two fingers at the end? Release in 2 days? (too hopeful maybe)

Just give me some conceptual stuff, please.

I got some "Somewhere i belong" vs "A thousand suns" feeling.

And seems like they're already filling the songs, adding layers over the original harmony.

The sound somehow reminds me of BMTH's most recent album.

    "Upcoming masterpiece"

Getting ahead of ourselves, aren't we. It can't possibly be better than their only true masterpiece, ATS

I was actually lucky enough to catch it live. This is such a great way to promote the album, being that LP is the most-liked band on Facebook. 88 of my Facebook friends like them, but I'd wager less than 10 of them still keep up with the band or even know they still make music. This should help change that.

I have high hopes for this album. After the balls-to-the-wall approach of THP, I would love to hear something on the opposite end of the spectrum. I just hope that they aren't afraid of pushing too far into different territory.
