Holy shit, that is highly detailed, I wonder if the CD is still available somewhere, I'd love to grab it even if it's just for the Runaway sample! Edit: More info about Rarefactions Textural Ambience From here: http://www.rarefaction.com/textural.html
Hey man, Yeah just take what I say with a grain of salt. This is all off of memory from a few years back. I've been trying to research more into it since my post.
I looked into it and that CD is out of print. But I stumbled across a couple of forum discussions and some people were saying the author of the CD sent them the files for free.
Yeah, even if the CD doesn't contain the Runaway sample, it still sounds cool none the less, at least based off the description of it on Rarefaction.com, it'd be an interesting add to my own collection. Welcome to LPA btw! Yeah, I saw that too, we should contact him. Edit: Awesome!
Thanks for the warm welcome! And yeah, anything Rarefaction is quality. I can almost gurantee the sample name was Ghella_02, so whatever weight that carries may help. Now I'm itching to have my hands on it again hahaha.
Funny story, I actually made a track with the sample a few years ago before ever even hearing Hybrid Theory -I'm a late LP fan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Heard Runaway and was shocked. Like "Hey! I know that sound!"
Oh man, that song is long gone. Even if I did, I'd be way too embarrassed to post it. It was AWFUL. It was probably literally that sample playing the original C pitch with a kick, snare and a 808 hihat
I'm fairly sure my school probably has that CD in their sample libraries somewhere (going to a music school with a massive recording studio complex on-site certainly has its perks). Definitely recall seeing Rarefaction stuff somewhere along the line. I'll look into it, assuming it isn't found through other means.
That would be great! In the mean time, I'll continue looking into it. Man, I really hope I'm correct with the sample cd. I'd hate for you guys to look this far into it to find it's not the correct one. Apologies ahead of time if that happens. I really am pulling all this from memory.
Nah, this isn't the first time I've heard that CD mentioned (or one of the CDs in that series) so you're probably onto something
Holy shit... Looks like this thread is only for those who have good ears and memories. I'm pulling out..
Hey guys. So, I have yet to receive a response from anyone regarding the sample, but I am still being very diligent on getting you guys *and myself* a definite answer. Sorry again, I should've had definite answers before making a post here. I was just excited to share something that has never seemed to be discovered yet.
No worries. You got Astat on the scent now so we're bound to figure out something now. But seriously, Astat knows his stuff when it comes to this kind of thing. You brought it up which is the only reason that we've gotten that much closer to figuring it out.
Hey guys. So while waiting for a response from a few of the emails I shot out, I have found that the preset "Aggitated Quiescence" for Absynth 4 by Native Instruments comes pretty close with no extra processing to that intro pad sound. Here's a short clip I uploaded so you guys could hear it. Sorry again for no definite answer, but I'm being hopeful! https://soundcloud.com/bradybrignac/runaway-absynth
