This has got to be the most controversial LP song of all time, wow. I agree with Derek. Dislike the song? Fine. Hate the song with a passion? OK, your choice. But to see a single causing people to insult and verbally wound each other... this is the last thing the band would ever want. Let's be better than that.

Eh, I wouldn't take anything he said during this period seriously. He was talking out of his ass a lot of the time. Then again, pre-release cycles always have him in full on promo mode. I find that it's during periods of downtime that we get more insightful comments from him.
No disrespect but I think being here is making me disagree with the very idea of labels and genres even more than I already did... In Pieces is pop now? If In Pieces is pop I hope Linkin Park does nothing but pop for the rest of their careers. Everything is pop then. I'll admit I once got caught up in labels. When I first heard Leave Out All the Rest, I said something along the lines of "It's a really good song, but, isn't it a little bit...pop...ish?" to my brother, who has long been one to make anti-LP jokes with me (just because he knows I love them) and you know what even HE said in response? The most poignant thing you could ever imagine, that put so much into perspective : "Yeah maybe, but all that matters is that you like it" .... that I genuinely thought it was really good. Mind blown, right?...what a concept... a possible categorization of genre didn't mean a damn thing and I never had that concept cross my mind ever again. Leave Out All the Rest is one of the best songs I've ever heard -- not just by Linkin Park either. By anybody.
