Oh man, Hearing Heavy in Nu-metal version is so hilarious, and it makes me appreciate the original version of the song a lot more. (Cuz it wouldve sounded horrible if they went this route)
Are we pretending we didn't like it? Because the new metal version is what make my balls tingle. It would be so much more awesome. But, you know, if you like new metal you really an angsty kid.
My prefs. 1. The Reggae version. 2. The actual version. 3. The swing version. 4. The version my gf and I just sang in a Torrid with different lyrics. 5. The nu-metal version. It was great for the laughs though.
What amazes me is that all this hate and backlash hasn't really got into them and they rather made fun of it in such cool way . I love this band man.
Sure kid, everyone who disagrees with you is just "pretending". All positive reviews of Heavy are fake news.
I can't even believe that people are in such disgust and hate over the fact that LP would betray them and "disrespect the people who built up their fame from the beginning." The fucking entitlement and hypocrisy is unreal with this album cycle.
These fans can't be satisfied . Even If they made a nu metal record they would get some people saying " something's missing " . These people are delusional and they continue to be and It's even more pointless to cater to them because they wanna live in the past , they want chester to sound like in his 20's , they want mike to dye his hair red even If they said otherwise . They have the mentality of teenager not necessarily teenagers but they act like them .
For the many fans that always leave, there will always be the ones who stay, because they grew up with the band, and like them, their musical taste has evolved over the years. Not to mention the new fans that come in as well.
Of course I was partially trolling with that comment earlier lol. But look, someone needs to play devil's advocate in moments like this. I laughed my ass off at the video, just uh.. I feel it's a bit harsh to insult the fans who haven't jumped on the bandwagon since MTM came out. Many of them helped to get Hybrid Theory and Meteora into the charts, and without the hype from those albums.. LP wouldn't be multi-millionaires. If you only enjoy the nu-metal Linkin Park, there's nothing wrong that. Keep voicing your opinion if you feel it's constructive. You're not a "child" if you just want nu-metal Linkin Park. Likewise, it's wrong to attack the band's character if they want to release pop music. Of course pop is marketed at "kids" like Mike is describing, but whatever. They've made a lot of music I enjoy, and i'll hold out to see if the album's any good. I won't stop saying Heavy is my least LP song though.. and guess what? That doesn't make me a nu-metal fanboy.. Burn It Down and Leave Out All The Rest were great.
"The nu-metal version?" *Chester laughs* "It's going to fucking suck!" *Others laugh* Like someone on twitter said that Mike retweeted, it really does show just how easy it is to recreate that kind of sound and how uninspired it would be to do so. They could pump out albums like that easily. On another note, this shows how damn versatile they are, even though they're just joking around it's actually impressive.
Reanimate, are you actually being...reasonable? *gasp* Seriously speaking though, I'm sure Linkin Park understand that their fans are one of the aspects that got them where they are now, and I'm sure the band is grateful for that. But the problem is, LP doesn't want to keep music over and over again. They want to test themselves, explore genres of music they hadn't before, even if they're mainstream. It's understandable if you don't like said directions, but at least give constructive criticism and move on. A good portion of the fanbase, unfortunately, feel like they own the band and want the band to make the music said fans want them to make, specifically returning to the Nu-Metal genre, as an example. And that's not a good thing when you want to shackle the band to the same music style you love for the entirety of their career. They've grown out of it, and quite a large number of people still haven't made peace with that and moved on. They're still making the same complaints they were doing 10 years ago, and that just makes me wonder why not move on to other bands who do metal, since Nu-Metal is basically dead and buried at this point? It's negative criticism from people who still want them to make another Hybrid Theory/Meteora, because they haven't moved on from enjoying that type of music and calling them sellouts. It's pointless negative criticism by them at this point, Linkin Park is never going to stop changing. Now, of course, there's also other fans that don't like Heavy to take into account, true, but at least they try to be reasonable about it. I respect them. Music is subjective, and if someone doesn't like something, that's fine. But never, and I mean, never act like a prick and feel like the band are your puppets to toy and make music with. They're doing what they want to do, and I deeply respect that. Because I too grew up listening to Hybrid Theory and Meteora. My older cousin introduced me to them. Like the band itself, I've grown up and expanded my musical tastes over the years. And I've sticked with them ever since.
Linkin Park parodying Linkin Park. Priceless. Now i want the ATS version. I must conffese that the song is not that great, but it is different. Different in a good way. Lp has nothing like heavy in their repertoire.
