At this point... It's more of an entertainment to see where the band is going and what they're doing, rather than being a fan of their stuff Of course I can only speak for myself
Total opposite for me. I now think the band are more awesome then ever. Can't wait to see them later this year.
I don't have problem with advertising a certain brand and the video was funny, nust like they intended to be.
Stealing this from reddit, but for anyone who says this is the worst music video LP has ever done, let me remind you that this exists:
Still much better and nowhere near as cringey as the OSC and Crawling vids. Digging this LP. Real nice.
People want this band to be so unknown, underground, and cool again like they were in 1999. Anything other than that is "selling out", and that term gets mis-used so much. Some people can't accept the fact that this band made it a long time ago.
I personally love the Mercedes highlights - and who can hate on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? Otherwise, forgettable video.
WHAT. THE. FUCK?! This is absurd, hilarious, dumbfounding and disappointing all at the same time. Joe should direct their videos again. AND NO MORE TIE-INS.
I hope the next single is One More Light and in the video maybe they can have a Mercedes car in Heaven. --- This video is weird but nice to see something different from LP, I guess.
Did you completely miss the multiple interviews where it was stated the inspiration behind Good Goodbye was the audience reaction when players from the visiting team get fouled out at Lakers games?
Are you crazy?! Are you expecting LP fans to... understand the context of a song?! You've been here as long as I have, man. You should know better.
Breaking the habit has a really good video though And to whoever's talking about the band selling out, you're 10 years late on this unnecessary whining. The next album might be as different to OML as OML is to THP.
Of all the things we can complain about with this band, y'all are gonna go off on a lighthearted music video? Christ. I couldn't give a fuck about the upcoming album but I thought this music video was enjoyable. A Mercedes is the least of my concerns considering the other dumb shit this band likes to put their names on.
What about the "product" placement throughout the entirety of the New Divide and Iridescent videos? Oh wait, good Hollywoodian giant alien robots saving the Earth from bad Hollywoodian giant alien robots is something too cool for us to criticize, let's pick on the band just now because they're producing their songs differently. Surely makes a lot of sense. Also, GATS was basically a gameplay, and a really boring one.
I really love the 80's synth intro they added. I wish the song itself sounded more along those lines instead.
After reading all of the comments, i was expecting something a lot more interesting. Amusing i suppose, but thats about it. Wouldve been better without the performance bits i think. Concept was fun enough.
I would like to think if they added cgi chipmunks singing along with the chorus in the actual video, it honestly wouldn't make it any weirder than the random head explosions amungst everything in this video in general. Like what in the actual fuck?! Lol Ita not too bad. 3 out of 5 imo
