To me, this whole genre sounds like the same song over and over. Also, this woman is annoying.

That's quite true. Symphonic metal is almost always the same, but I like it anyway. This is not one of my favorite bands and her voice is not the best either. But bands like Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation are always trying to do something different (making one album either more metal, using the choir a bit more or having more elaborate symphonic pieces). That's one of the problems of metal. In general, bands stick mostly to one sound and hardly ever get away from it. One band I would like if they did something different would be Arch Enemy if they put more clean vocals into it, but they have the pressure of the die-hard melodic death metal fans who'd probably think they'd be selling out. I think metal doesn't always have to be heavy and there are good metal ballads out there.
Anyway, 5/10. Good instrumentation, but annoying voice. It's related to the previous song, I couldn't listen to the Foo Fighters one.

 

9/10 really enjoyed it...nice video too!
