Mike Shinoda has announced he's releasing three brand new songs tomorrow (Thursday Jan 25th) with videos with all the art done by him. The new artwork Mike is using for his profile could be the album cover with a filename hinting at the title "Post Traumatic EP". What do you expect to hear from these songs? Being the first new music released from Mike since Chester's passing and the rumored EP name of "Post Traumatic", it could be some of the most emotional and personal songs from Mike to date. We could possibly hear a studio version of Looking for an Answer which was performed at the Chester Bennington tribute show as we have seen videos of Mike working on it via Instagram. Let us know your thoughts on the LPA forums!
I've never been more excited to probably cry at work in my life. Bravo Mike for getting right back on that music saddle.
This is the most I've been excited about new music since The Hunting Party! But I expect this to not disappoint.
I am excited and happy for this! I’m ready to take that next step forward and it makes me happy that Mike is taking that step.
This. I also think it's a 'right step' that the first new music out of the 'LP Camp' since Chester's passing is solo music from Mike. This is going to help the fans (and Mike) heal, and will help open the door to the band eventually continuing, as absolutely difficult as that must be. Baby steps. One day at a time.
This, along with Dave's new podcast. It's good to see the band members starting to become more active and pursue different avenues and projects while not splitting apart from each other (the recent banter between Dave and Mike was nice to see).
Also, the comment about all music and visuals done by him is in intriguing. Music videos (not full fleshed out one but more along the lines of a compilation of scenery clips)? Lyric videos? Or maybe just simply artwork?
We don’t deserve this exceptional human being. I don’t know how he does it but damn am I excited for things to come.
Creation is an outlet for a creator's emotion. I applaud Mike for being so open about this tumultuous period of his life and openly sharing how it's influencing his work. He's a true artist. I don't know if I'm ready for this.
