How is it going guys? My name is Jay and I'm from an international band Riverline, we represent 4 countries - USA, UK, Kazakhstan and Malaysia, we did a cover for Lying From You, if you have some time to check it, we would appreciate that a lot!

Am I right in saying you didn't re-create the instrument parts?

    You're not :)

The only part we didn't re-create is the drums

Other than that, we did everything by ourselves

Here is our guitar sound, I think we did a pretty good job on that and it's kinda close to LP's Meteora sound

Here is the Hahn's part performed by our DJ Yang, we also chopped back FX sounds and samples and played them by ourselves, he also did the intro

We recorded the bass part and yeah, like I said, the only part we used untouched is the drums since we don't have a drummer in our project and also we thought the original drums is the key for the song and it would sound much better than VST stuff.

So yeah, I don't know if you did like the cover or didn't but we worked pretty hard on it, people think that we just used an official instrumental, but we just wanted everything sound really close to original song with respect to Linkin Park

Thank you! Currently we are finishing our cover for It's Going Down, if you liked the guitar tone in this cover, I guess you will be enjoying the sound of the next one as well ^_^

I think you did a great job of covering it, but I still don't like the song.

How so? If I dont like the original song, it stands to reason I would also dislike a cover that faithfully recreates it. The cover is good and very accurate, but the song itself is just bad.

If the cover changed things up with different melodies, and instrumentation that drastically changes the song, I might have liked it. As it is, it's just the same ole, bad, and boring, "Lying From You" from Meteora.

I can complement the people and the skill it takes to recreate it, but that won't make a bad song a good one.

Also, my opinion of the song being bad is purely subjective. No one is wrong for enjoying it. My post was the kindest way to articulate that I dislike the song yet still give props for doing great in covering it.
