Odd to see Bilateral so low, it's widely seen as their best album with Congregation. I only discovered them this year and heard their newest stuff at first that's probably why I like them more.

Bilateral is overhyped. Forced Entry, Bilateral, and Cryptogenic Desires are some of their best, but the rest is forgettable and boring.

For me, The Congregation is just god-tier. It has more heavy and harsh vocal parts which is great, but are used sparingly, which makes the parts so much more effective when they’re there. The Flood for me is their best track, and is perfection.

Yes, The Flood is my favorite too. Especially the last 1:30 minutes is like one of the best moments I've ever heard in music!

My take on the Maiden discography:

    1. Somewhere in Time
    2. Powerslave
    3. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
    4. Piece of Mind
    5. The Number of the Beast
    6. Brave New World
    7. Fear of the Dark
    8. The Book of Souls
    9. A Matter of Life and Death
    10. The X Factor
    11. The Final Frontier
    12. Dance of Death
    13. Killers
    14. Iron Maiden
    15. Virtual XI
    16. No Prayer for the Dying
That was pretty hard! Some are kinda interchangeable, lol. No Prayer isn't bad imo, but definitely worse than the rest of their stuff!

Kidding aside, that's a pretty solid list. I've always loved Maiden, but for whatever reason during quarantine, they've become one of my absolute favorites. I'm a prog metal guy, so reunion era Maiden really speaks to me.

Haha, yeah. TBH none of their records are bad and most of the list is pretty much interchangeable anyway!
Hmmm... I've never liked the Dianno era as much as their later stuff. I should give the first two an honest spin again!
Well, Somewhere In Time has always been a favourite of mine. That's their record I used to jam the most when I discovered them.

Sorry for the double post. But I'm continuing this thread by rating one of my favourite Metal bands of all time: Between the Buried and Me
These guys are geniuses and quite frankly one of the best modern (Prog-) Metal bands going. I like all their albums so it was kinda hard to rank them.
    Here we go:

    1. Colors (their Master of Puppets imo and overall best! The transition from Sun of Nothing to Ants of the Sky is just brilliant! Kinda like LP's ATS this should be listened to in full - front to back - rather than checking out individual songs, as they'd otherwise end rather abprubtly)

    2. The Parallax II: Future Sequence (pretty close to Colors though I like Colors a little more)

    3. The Great Misdirect (The closer Swim to the Moon rules, It's an 18 min. adventure)

    4. Alaska (Selkies: The Endless Obsession is one of their best songs!)

    5. Automata I & II (Their latest project. Two seperate Ep's that constitute an album, so I included them. I enjoyed this more than Coma Ecliptic. Can't wait what's next for them)

    6. The Silent Circus (Mordecai is really good with a cool video)

    7. Coma Ecliptic (I like the Rock/Metal opera thing they were going for - plus the obvious Queen influences - though It's a little flat and tame compared to some of their other albums)

    8. Self-Titled (not bad, the original production sucked, though they remixed/remastered the album this year. I like the new version way more. Might have to give it a few more spins)
