No worries. I'd just rather I tell you than staff or someone even higher up than that tell you to take it down.
Damn for a second I thought we finally tracked down the source of the Runaway sample haha . I really wonder though, I wonder if it is synthesized instead of a sample like we're assuming.
How many songs has Mike used that thunder sound that starts Breaking the Habit? I've found it in Remember the Name and Ghosts so far.
I thought Astat had said the same explosion effect was used in Remember the Name and The Radiance...not sure if I'm remembering that right.
I remember this, too. I found it in Ghosts, I'm pretty sure anyway, and now I'm curious just how many times Mike recycled this sound.
Hi guys, i just bought a multi FX pedal by boss called gt1 and i need some of your help... i wanna play linkin park tracks (papercut, faint, numb, a place in my head... just all of them, they are all great), but i dont know how to setup up my sound right.. im very new to this but i‘ve got a lot of motivation to learn alot. Thanks for the help (hope i‘m right here in this thread
does anyone know which synth/preset/plugin they used in the Blackout intro? I mean the one that goes A-B-A-B-A-B...
Yeah I agree. It's just some chords with a standard square wave manipulated into the sound they wound up with. Also Tony talked about the forbidden album
It sounds like there's some bitcrush and reverb on that synth riff. Maybe a chorus effect. I'm just going by ear though.
sounds about right, I've been trying to replicate it with good results so far. I really like that synth, it has that ethereal radiance kind of vibe to it
What do they do to make the drum samples like they have in songs like Blackbirds and In Pieces. They sound almost like someone beatboxing I really like the style but I haven't been able to replicate it for the life of me. I'm assuming some form of EQ with Compression and Saturation but the details I have no idea what to do.
They probably use real pedals and amps to achieve some of those sounds. You can get the same effect with software. I think you need tape distortion or saturation and cutting off either high or low frequencies.
Anyone got an idea which synth they used for their early demo's strings? For example right here in the beginning: Apparently they've used an Yamaha AN1x for most of their early synth pads, but I have one of those and I cannot get anything similiar out of it. Any idea on how one could create a similiar sound?
Hi. Sorry for the late reply, but I just stumbled upon this post while trying to cover Don't Stay and I managed to pull out something decent with N.I. Massive, by tweaking the "Metaloid" preset a bit. Get both of the cutoffs to about 5%, In the Macro section: Metal - 65%, Mallet - 100%, Filter - 40%, Reverb - 55%, Attack - 45% (the rest stays the same). The Pitches should be: OSC1 - 0, OSC2 - 7, OSC3 - 0. Then strictly for the build up part add an Overdrive (I'm using Ableton's standard plugins) automated from 100 to 2500 Hz, going from 0 to 100 % and an Auto Filter, bandpass (the middle option), OSR, Drive 12 dB, automated from 150 to 2000Hz (Filter Frequency). The note should be F#2 for the buildup. Then for the rest disable the effects and change the note to F#5. Hope it helps 6 years later )...
