I don't know how to respond to that. I mean, if I say a NDE is just an unconsicious state, what about the no heart beat thing?

And I don't believe you can die and come back, science or not. I don't believe in God, so that's out of the question. And I don't think we have the technology to bring people back to life.

If we had that kind of technology, we'd use it on people like Elvis. :shifty:

Of course, we do have those paddles that send a shock to the heart. I forgot the name of them.

EDIT: And when we do find the technology to revive a dead person, who's been dead for 24 hours or longer, then we've really crossed the line, making ourselves into homemade gods, if you will.

It's enough that womyn can give birth, but now we can bring back life? And we can take lives?

It's true. We really are our own gods, if you think about it.

I believe in god and I think that this was a miracle but I'm not gonna waste my time trying to make a point, too sleepy.

I agree with that so much.
Doesn't mean it's 'divine intervention".

Well I dont agree with human cloning, if that's what you mean..cause even though the clone supposedly has the same feelings and memories as the original child, it's still never going to be like the original boy/girl.

Still though, supporting what Casey said in a way, I believe we should clone Elvis!!

Thank you, thank you very much.

I'm not talking about cloning, I'm talking about actually 'shocking' the people back to life with those paddles.

I'm totally against cloning. Unless it's like a Terminator Clone or something. Terminator Elvis > You.

According to scientific research, I think, "seeing the light" is when your nerves are disconnecting and such. The "light," I guess, are the electric impulses being cut off, you know, like when a wire is torn from it's outlet.

The human body supposedly contains so much electicity, so that's why, even when the body may seem dead, the brain still works, I think that's how comas work, so therefor like Will said, it was possible a possible disconnecting nerve sent a shock into a part of his brain to make his breathing return. He might now be mentally ill due to the drowning incident, who knows (I skimmed the article, so I don't know if it mentions anything like that), but in the event, that might be something that happened.

And about cloning, cloning can create an exact duplicate. The only reason a clone may act different is the supposed same evolutionary theory of one's environment. Depending on environment, a change is subject to occur.

Sorry if some things don't make sense or my information is wrong, trying to remember stuff I learned throughout the years and I might have got some of it wrong or missed some things .

Not even Final Fantasy? Games 1 through 11? *Falls over laughing*

    *Points to my Yuna post*
But FF is warm

But yeah, the brain can go without oxygen for a long time if the temperature is low enough and stuff, maybe he was still a bit too cold - until that time when he woke up or something.

Definately not the 'divine intervention' though :E

I agree. It was certainly not divine intervention.

On cloning, I think cloning is all wrong. It can become really screwed up if people are going to clone themselves. We want to be god in our own lives and I don't think that's really good. Sometimes it is, but humans can't have everything in their hands.

I heard many things about people who are pronounced dead and after a few minutes, they're back again here on earth. I won't talk about how it is explained in my religion because many of you here will just oppose me and so I think it is useless saying it.

It's not yet his time to die. It can partly be explained by the mission each one of us have. He might have not yet fulfilled that and so he was given the gift of life once again.

I consider these stories as miracles.

Uhm... people die and come back a lot more than you think. And we can technically keep a "dead" person alive with machines. I know you've heard of people not wanting to "pull the plug" on a loved one. And those paddles are called Defribillators. Our school has them.

    Yeah.

I forgot what my point was. Meh, I'll just go with we're evolving into our own self-made god. We can give life, take life, and bring people back to life.

I don't know what my point was. Shoot me.

I saw someone on the news about 2 years ago whose heart stopped beating and he stopped breathing for about five hours and then revived himself.
