A second "Headbangers Ball" compilation will be released through Roadrunner/Island/Def Jam later this year. Entitled "MTV2 Headbanger's Ball, Vol. 2" , the 2 CD set will land in stores on September 28th with a track listing to be announced shortly.
What profit would there be in that? More people would buy it if they knew artists on the CD. They would see that these artists could be like these unknown people, and then they'd buy it. When has MTV EVER done anything with just underground bands? Their commercial: They'll stay that way forever. It's MTV. What do you expect?
Jesus christ on a stick! Who gives a #### about profits. I would understand if it was MTV, but it's MTV2, which is basically suppose to be Underground music. What's the point in Mainstream Rock being on the CD? They get enough exposure already, be it MTV or Fuse or whatever. People will buy the CD for the mainstream bands, and probably not even listen to the second one. <_< I hate MTV.
I don't think profits mean anything. If I remember correctly, the first volume of the Headbangers Ball album only sold 500,000 copies.
I have a semi-interesting question to ask: Which artists that were on CD2 of the last album would you expect to be on CD1 of this collection?
Lacuna Coil probably...I cant think of anymore at the moment lol [/b][/quote] Yea me too, Killswitch Engage were on the first CD, so I immediately ran out of names.
Poison the well, Lacuna Coil, As I Lay Dying I believe Shadows Fall and Killswitch were already on disc 1
