Yah, although 12 Stones are a really good band, i don't think they will ever be a really huge band.

Paul McCoy and Mike Shinoda sound nothing alike except for the fact that they both have male voices...and Paul wasn't rapping anyways...

The worst part is that Chester says Paul McCoy sounds like Mike Shinoda. They don't. Paul isn't even rapping. Anyone who thinks that's rapping obviously doesn't listen to music. Ever. And Korn said that Evanescence stole Linkin Park's style. Hah. Has he even heard their album? It sounds nothing like Linkin Park. The only song that sounds remotely similar is "Bring Me To Life," and even that is a bit farfetched. Evanescence also solidified their sound in 1998, whereas Linkin Park solidified their sound in 1999. Look who wins.

I agree with everything you said

whats funny is this was posted on the LPU and peoples reactions were "i thought that guy WAS mike when i first heard it"

I like both bands but it seems like Jon Davis was just talking out of his ass right there

Sepultura copied KoRn when all nu metal bands have copied Roots. And Jon Davis is a Max Cavalera rip-off, how can he talk?

Jesus, Jon and Chester must have been on drugs

The only thing Evanescence and LP have in common is that they both use protools. I suppose Jon has a point, but to say Evanescence are a Linkin Park ripoff is going a bit too far.

    Evanescence and Lacuna Coil anyone?

I do agree it is hard to find your own sound nowadays. Look at Chevelle, their lead singer has a lot of influences from maynard from tool, but the band as a whole has a unique sound, and i'm glad they were able to find their own sound. I could say the guy from muse sounds like a Radiohead ripoff, but the sound is slightly more hard rock, I'll let muse slide.

No. Evanescence and Lacuna Coil released their first EPs at the same exact time on two separate continents and they didn't even know the other existed. ;)

I don't think Evanescence imitated LP at all. Just because they have the rapped lines in BMTL and maybe some other aspects. Evanescence's label was ######' stupid to ask them to sound more like another band. Chester was funny in that interview: "I told her to tell the label to put it where the sun doesn't shine."

He was basically talking. To the rhythm. Angrily.

He really used none of his talent on that song.

That's pretty much the dictionary deffinition of rapping...

I regard LP as more industrial than nu-metal. Mainly sampling with short bursts of guitar, and nearly over-produced vocals. IMO the only nu-metal thing about them is that they mix rock guitar with rapping.

He didn't because he didn't want to be on the song and Evanescence didn't want him on the song. Wind-Up is a control-freak label.

I read that article earlier today and I was just amazed at how labels, producers, and everyone but the band can change the artist's original idea into something they don't want. It is like going up to a painter that has the outlines to the drawing done but telling them what colors to color in the outlines with.

yeah...it's like they own the band and should milk them for what they are worth.
