    Why is everyone asking that?

No. Mike just remixed the music. I don't think he did any vocal effects or changed the arrangement or anything like that.

The original is great, I cant really judge the remixed version by a small clip, Once the ful remixed one is released i will post my opinion, But, Mikes remix does sound really great.

Depeche Mode are so damn cool! The original is a classic, and this remix rocks! For all who don't know DM: They are kind of the biggest alternative band of all time. Chester once said that as a kid he was always dreaming to become the fifth member of Depeche Mode.

DM started in England in the early 80's and did groundbreaking stuff in electronics and sampling. Their own remix of 1983's "Get the balance right" is said to be the first house track of all time. But Depeche never followed the house path - they progressed into a dark, cool pop direction which didn't only influence LP, but also people like NIN, the Smashing Pumpkins and many more.

By the end of the 80's they'd become big in the States as well and filled arenas up to 70.000 people like the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Their album Violator (1990) is one of the best albums of the past 20 years (and includes singles like Enjoy the silence, Personal Jesus (which will be covered by Marilyn Manson soon), and Policy of truth). The nineties saw them discover a rather guitarish style, mixed with hard electronics. They topped the Billboard Charts with the album "Songs of faith and devotion" (1993) and released two other great albums to date, "Ultra" (1997, US # 5) and Exciter (2001, US # 8) (featuring "Dream on").

For all who are interested: Listen to "The Singles 86-98", especially to the songs Stripped (later covered by Rammstein), Never let me down again (later covered by the Smashing Pumpkins), Personal Jesus, Enjoy the silence, I feel you, Barrel of a gun.

This is shaping up to be a great song. I can see this winning a few Depeche Mode fans for LP and viceversa.

    LOL.

Some guy said it sounds like the music from "Crawling" behind "Enjoy The Silence" vocals. That guy has obviously never heard "Crawling." It sounds more like "Numb" than anything else. I don't think it sounds like any other LP songs.

I think that Strangelover guy is an idiot. Did you see his post? He labelled fans as white, angry kids, then after being completely owned by a mother, goes on to say that it wasn't stereotyping.

    I can't believe this guy.

Did you see what someone said about Mike being a Asian-American trying to be/rap like a Africa-American? I found that a little rude/prejudice

That's the official board, sort of like what the LPU boards have turned into; Lots of posts about the bandmembers looks
Most other boards at least tolerate it, and mostly think it's a good remix. which it is! ^_^
