i gave it an 8 because it's a good album, but if you ever listen to Meteora and Hybird Theory back to back, you can see what the better album is. But also :chaz: Chester's Vocals on the album are awesome
I mean this in the nicest possible way but only about a good 25% percent (if not less) of the CD really shows any sort of credible musical talent from Linkin Park. Oddly enough, that 25% doesn't get old and stands out to me as the tracks that tried something new: Easier To Run - What I love about this song is that every non vocalist member seems to be putting thier full effort into the final product. Joe creates a dreamy soundscape while Rob's drumming complimented by Dave and Brad's clever guitar work, help to add a feeling of depth to the song. Brad is different in this song in the respect he uses a lot of guitar effects that I believe to be "old school metal". The flange effects (most noticible right after the bridge and at the end of the song) are something Brad's never done before and its songs like these that can help Brad be considered as a true guitarist by some people. It's just a crying shame he still has to resort to those miserable powerchords. From The Inside - This is one of the few songs where Linkin Park seemed to pay close attention to the music behind the vocals instead of vice versa. Not only did they write the music in 6/8 (a Linkin Park first) they also..like in Easier To Run, wrote some very good compositions to be played along with the guitar. The new approach made this song feel a lot more aggressive then a vast majority of the other tracks that exist on the record and that my friend is a good thing. Breaking The Habit - Ah the horribly overplayed/over-advertised song that is Breaking The Habit. Despite being milked for all its worth, this song was worth a mention because of all the creativity that happened to go into this one song. The use of a real orchestra and a live guitar over the violins, made this song respectable and it could be the best reason as to why this song got good ratings, when the rest of the record was slammed for its unoriginality. Plain and simple, this track was a curveball for Linkin Park, and fortunately for their fans and critics, they hit a home run.
I'd give it a 10. This record is as awesome as Ht in my opinion. The songs are quite similar, but they focused on their sound and they created a few interessting techniques. It seems that they wanted to complete the Ht sound - it works. A great record! That's my opinion guys. And, what is more, I believe if Ht would have been the follow up of Meteora, you would say that both are too similar.
I would give the album 7/10. I have to say I was really bit disappointed when I first listened to the whole CD. But the more I heard it, it was not so bad.
I't's sounds like HT but hey, it's linkin park. I actually wished that this album would be a little more like ht ep. but oh well
I give it 8/10 I like the majority of the songs but not all of them and I'm not really hooked with any of the songs, but I like them very much
10 definately. It's amazing how they mix different styles of music so ceverly. Why do people say it's worse than HT it's just different and Chester is singing more. Rob is way better than before.
-great lyrics -more hiphop -great samples -lots of hits (faint, numb, BTH etc.) -less agressive, more emotional. I didnt really like Hyrbid Theory, becouse it was just to raw for me, to mutch screaming and shouting. Im really more of the controlled stylish beats like faint and Figure.09

Figure.09 Nothing ever stops all these thoughts and the pain attached to them Sometimes I wonder why this is happenin' It's like nothing I can do would distract me when I think of how I shot myself in the back again Cuz from the infinite words I can say I Put all pain you gave to me on display But didn't realize instead of setting it free I Took what I hated and made it a part of me ___ yeah i call that great lyrics, especialy compared to other metal / rock groups like Evanescance and Slipknot.
im sorry but what kind of reaction is that
Look at all the songs on 'Meteora' that mention "pain". Seriously, its monotonous. And Evanescence has great lyrics. You might want to listen to their full album before judging them.
