Exactly. It's what people want. Marketing, folks. Marketing and business. Kids want to see their favorite singers dancing around, so they can imitate them, so that's what they do. Fortunately, I passed that stage before I turned thirteen.
I don't think lip-synching is wrong. Denying it is what's wrong. If you tell people and they still go to the concert, nobody is cheated. Go to a Linkin Park concert and when you see Phoenix Farrel standing there through the whole concert, tell me that. I guess, the same reason why Avril Lavigne thinks she's rock.
Well, Avril's band plays rock music and she sings. I'd call that pop-rock. Ashlee Simpson suddenly thinks that because she dies her hair black, puts on some bracelets, and puts a "punk" t-shirt on, she's the "rocker chick". There's a difference between Ashlee and Avril.
Yeah, Hoobastank's lead singer was sick for some awards show, yet he still sang. Sounded bad, but he tried. I have more respect than some fake lip syncher. [/b][/quote] He wasn't sick. His earpiece was broken and he couldn't hear himself singing over his band.
Unless that band playing behind her were made of cardboard, I would consider her just as rock. They think they are rock, but in my opinion, they are whatever the record company thinks will sell.

Record companies are everything to them, they'll change their style, singing, everything for them! They're in for the fame and money that's why their lyrics are fake, they haven't experinced most of what they are talking about. (There are exceptions like "Shadows" she knows what she's talking about). Sorry, but I think Avril Lavigne is kinda pop. Don't like her either. No offense to anyone. I'm just twelve now. I don't think age matters. I have realized my faults
Way to make me feel old. When I was twelve, the Spice Girls had just released their first album. I bought it, and then my parents gave me the second one. I was so cool (or so my friends thought) because I could do a perfect Posh Spice imitation. That's why Britney and all those other cookie-cutter pop stars sell records. Little girls like to dance around and sing, and they like to imitate older girls. Despite that, you're right in saying that age doesn't matter. Hell, when I got sick of the Spice Girls, I gave the CDs to my older sister. She's 20 and still loves them. To each her own, I suppose.
I have experienced that first hand too! Now the music I listen to is all coping with my problems and going "damn authority". It was so fun back then! I didn't want to make you feel old...*evil thoughts start to pop up in my head*
