If any of you think that the best lyrisist in rock was from Slipknot or from any similiar you have a lot to learn. Im surprized nobody said Kurt Cobain... hes excellent at it. Go read some of Bob Dylan's work if you want to know what the best looks like. Desolation Row, Masters of War, Shelter From The Storm, Visions of Johanna, Like A Rolling Stone... these will impress you guys. Here an example. Certainly not his best lyrics but theyre great and short for me to post. Bob Dylan is definately one of the best. "There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief, "There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief. Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth, None of them along the line know what any of it is worth." "No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke, "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke. But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate, So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late." All along the watchtower, princes kept the view While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too. Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl, Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

Okay, lets make a few things clear for everyone. Whoever said Jonathan Davis, the guys from Linkin Park, Slipknot Amy Lee and plenty of other answers, you have no idea what you are talking about. Its that simple. The only competitent answers Ive seen are MJK. He knows what he's doing and it shows. His lyrics are 1000x better than anybody else in music today. I can tell you about 10 people who are better than him even. Cobain is also a great lyricist, but by no measure is he the best. What you guys have to realize is how many other people there are who can write excellent poetry. 1. Bob Dylan 2. John Lennon (The Beatles) 3. Paul Mcartney (The Beatles) 4. Pete Townsend (The Who) 5. Roger Walters (Pink Floyd) 6. Neil Young 7. Eddie Vetter (Pearl Jam) Nobody mentioned even one of these guys, which shows just how ignorant all of you are. IM me if you disagree
Whoa, man. Calm down. Have you ever heard an opinion? Yeah, that's what these people were expressing. Their opinions. You expressed your opinion, but made it seem like yours mattered more than everyone else's. That's not going to get you far here. Calling everyone ignorant just because they don't agree with you is one of the most foolish things I've ever heard of in my life. Learn to respect the opinions of other users, and maybe they'll respect yours. Got it?
Turn the big-headed switch off. Don't get high and mighty because you think you're the only one who listens to those artists on here. I'm sure many of us do, including myself, and they do have talent, but I choose not to make them my favorite. We all have different opinions but I suppose some of us are rude about it.
