I agree, I've had iRiver since 2002 until i broke my most recent one. But then i decided on the Rio Carbon, its execelent and it has a 20+ hour battery life. Its only 5gb though. I love it, its small, thin (less than an inch), and the rio logo lights up and everyone says its "pretty".

I like Creative MP3 players in general! I have a Muvo2 but thats only 1.5 GB adn it hasn't crashed or anything adn the battery lasts over 15 hours in between charges! I would go for the Zen because they look better than the IPods AND anyways loads of people have Ipods jsut because they are cool!
i have a 40gb ipod and i love it! i owuld recommend it if you have that amount of cash and dont intend to use it for file storage ect [Fool]
The only con you could think of for a Creative Zen is the size, its slightly bigger than a pod but unless you want to have a funky looking player it doesn't present a problem. They are much better for value and functionality. + you can buy new batteries for the Zen Xtra in a store, you don't have to send them back to apple for replacement.
It still fits in my pocket, the performance is better than the Apple products, so 'tis why I recommend it. Just because the iPods look good doesn't mean they work just as well.
