i believe the earthquake started somewhere off shore indonesia, which then later caused tsunami's to sri lanka, indonesia, india, maldives, thailand, bangladesh, malaysia.

the tidal waves, or tsunami were said to be around 33ft [10 metres] high. some hotels or resorts built along the coastline were actually wiped out by the tidal waves.

I just saw on the news that this earthquake has actually shortened the length of the Earth's day... by three microseconds.

Who figures that stuff out when hundreds of thousands of people are over there without homes because of the earthquake? I mean, seriously.

this so awful, many of my friends are aisian and i really hope none of thier families got hurt.

To show just how far it spread i live in perth which is near the bottom of the west coast of australia and apparantly the waves on some of our beaches were high and some people were swept of a bridge or sumthin, that is just mad that it could reach so far.

Indonesia's total death toll might reach 25,000.

Good Lord. I just want 2004 to end. 2004 is a horrid year.

WHO (World Health Organisation) fears that the death toll can be doubeled by the diseases from the bad water and the people that are dead. It can take years and years to rebuild everything.
