In a recent article concerning the music industry's new approach to music sales, Warner chairman Edgar Bronfman Jr. revealed new information on future Linkin Park releases through Warner Brothers.

Bronfman revealed that Warner is expecting a 'more robust' 2005 which will include 'major releases from hard-rock headliner Linkin Park'.

No further information was given on what we can expect from the band, but if word from Bronfman is true, fans can expect Meteora's followup to be released sometime in 2005.

For updated information on the new album, stay tuned to LPA or our "New Album Thread" on the forums which will be updated periodically as more information becomes availible.

Thanks to Trumtram for the news!

It will probably be pushed back to mid-2006.

I was totally thinking that. As an artist myself 2005 release just wouldn't be enough time to get my shit straight and release a worthwhile album. I'm pretty sure LP could release an album in that time span but... the longer they took the more sure I'd be that it won't be crap. That's the Trent Reznor Theory (and it's worked so far).

Thats what I said to my friend that reported this news. For the longest time they said they were taking a break and "not until 2006". And now suddenly they're like "Yeah we're dropping a new record in 2005" and Warner is going around saying the same thing.

Can we say forced release to give the label more money? You betcha.

This record should be anything but rushed, Look what happened to Meteora, They should have took lots more time making that record, Im fine with them taking the time doing this new one, Because i feel if they take their time making this one, It could be better than anytthing they have ever released, Thats why im pissed at it being rushed.

It doesn't imply anything about a new album. Maybe its a DVD or something.

I'll probably get shit or something for saying this but I am 110% sure that there will NOT be a new LP CD in 2005.

Thats a very good point. It could be a DVD or something. Mid to late 2006 seems better for a new LP release.

Why would you get shit for that? Remember, the guy didn't give any specifications on what it'd be...and Mark Fiore HAS been recording LP for quite some time so your DVD idea seems quite likely.

The only reason a Meteora Followup was suggested was because of the "New Years" quote Mike gave a few news posts back.

I thought I'd get shit for it because I always do when I tell people there wont be an LP album in 2005

I hope they do what Korn's doing and release a Projekt Revolution DVD.

If anything the Projekt Revolution DvD would be the show where Jay Z came out. I really hope they do the Mountain View Show where they played A.06 and Sweet Child O' Mine.

I'd laugh if the dropped a new album at 12:00 AM on New Year's Eve/Day 2005.

Even if that day is a Saturday. <_<

If they could get all the labels in line, a complete Projekt Revolution 2005 DVD would be the shit.

I'd only like that if it were more like a Frat Party DVD, and by that I mean not so much focused on the performances. But a DVD does sound good.
