Why he don't play solo parts in the songs? I don't think that he cannot play but why he is not playing solo guitar? It would be nice if you think about it
i remember an interview a few years back where LP was asked why wouldnt they do guitar solos, their answer was simple: WORD. and also..you dont need to belt out guitar solos just to be a decent guitarist.
I agree that you don't need guitar solos to be a good guitarist but I'm eager to listen to a decent solo. Hey, LP said they wouldn't swear on albums *coughCCcough*, so maybe they'll break their word and use guitar solos too.
Yeah but the swearing wasn't written by them, it was all Jay-Z's parts. And secondly, it wasn't a Linkin Park album, it was a mash up album.
Brad doesn't show his skills or if he does, then he's really not a very good guitarist. The guitar riffs in most LP songs are beginner-type riffs. Which is why they can trust picking a fan out of the crowd to play in Faint because it's simple enough, that if they know how to play guitar, they can play Faint.
How cool is that? You could be picked to play with your favorite band...that would never happen. It doesn't match LP style, I don't think he needs to play solos.
A lot of us think Brad has a lot of potential. But, he's doing nothing special so some of us think he isn't a good guitarist. A guitar solo would be a great way to show fans how good he is.
If they're not going to do solos, they should at least have a bridge with only guitars (see: Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams") and drums. And get rid of the damn powerchords! ("Numb", "In The End", choruses). Maybe a different tuning from the normal ones could help too. Make it sound less crunchy for a song or two.
Maybe Brad can give it a try....... After listening to it, the fans can give some suggestion!! Whether u like it or not!!
I think he should try something but in an instrumental song, so it wouldn't stand out like it would in most of Linkin parks songs.
Brad is not only a good guitarist, he is also a great composer, in that all his guitar parts tie the song together. also lp have said they don't want a "main man" in the band, and having a guitarist ripping into a solo on stage would elevate him as a leader.
A lot of guitarists do that. It's basically the point. He's nothing special. I'm sure he has talent, but he's sure not showing it. Sometimes fans want a "leader". Ripping a solo doesn't make you a great guitarist but it doesn't take away skill. It makes a songs interesting. Think about Metallica without solos. The songs drag on. Soloing is not a way to show off, it's a way to change up the song a little, break it up. Brad needs to step up majorly. Powerchords and harmonics just dont' cut it. We need technicality. Well, I do.
