...Okay, it serves as a transition into the next song on the album, since all the songs are linked together, so I guess Cedric & Omar didn't want to break that "flowage" just because it's a single. Goes to show you that being #1 on the singles charts and getting play on MTV isn't their top goal, it's just Universal's goal probably. Can't say I blame either party involved either.

Of course, The Mars Volta isn't really the type of band that will have a #1 single or anything like that. They're just too different from what the mainstream likes.

I haven't heard the version with the 2 minute outro noise that you're talking about. The version I had was perfect for radio. But then I read what GSL Records said on their site about pirating the album, and deleted the whole album from my computer.

I'm just going to wait until the single is released to stores. Even if it is one track.

 

yea i downloaded The Widow and it didn't have the outro and then i got the whole album and it had this 2 minuyte outro noise so...that might be it.

 

TMV is so awesome.. especially This apparatus must be unearthed, Inertiatic ESP and Cicatriz ESP... One must definately be in the mood for the unbelievable nervousness of this crap tho.. Still, I love it.\!

 

i hope the songs on the new album WILL be better than the widow, or i will be disaapointed cause that is like one of their worst songs... not bad, but not great

 

It all depends on whether you like 10+ minute songs with spanglish lyrics and another concept album.
