Judge Denies LP Poster Trademark Case

    A british judge has rejected a case by Linkin Park hoping to trademark their name for use on posters. The ruling allows shopkeepers to sell unofficial Linkin Park posters without authorization from the band. In what is an apparently landmark case, this means the band can no longer sue suppliers of unofficial posters carrying their name. For more info, click here.

    this is absolute bullshit. The judge probably knows some scamming shop owner who's profitting from all this. What other (logical) reasoning could you POSSIBLY have. This is ridiculous and should be heard by a higher court.

    that is fucking dumb. just about all the other bands out there have registered trademarks, and logos, and band names...why cant LP have theirs

    that is dumb - but come on guys you must have an 'unafficial' poster lying around somewhere? i know i have at least three.

    i can see why LP are peeved but even if they did get a trademark on their name people would still scam them!
