Police in the US could be facing legal action after they handcuffed a five-year-old girl at a nursery in Florida. A video camera which happened to be rolling as part of a classroom self-improvement exercise recorded the incident on March 14 at Fairmount Park Elementary School in St Petersburg. The camera captured images of the girl tearing papers off a bulletin board, climbing on to a table and punching a carer before police were called to the school. The child then appeared to calm down but three officers approached, pinned her hands behind her back and put cuffs on as she screamed "No!". Lawyer John Trevena is planning to sue the officers having obtained the tape. He said it is incomprehensible that the police officers would take such action over a youngster's behaviour. I watched this last night on some show or another. I don't know what to believe anymore. No doubt the girl is a brat, but I don't think the police had to go that far with it...
Cops have really been enforcing the law on little kids lately, huh? I remember when a good spanking or something from the parent would be enough. Wow. Can you imagine if that kid goes into therapy? Along with the others, they'll all probably be like, "Yeah, when I was five, I got cuffed for being a brat. You know, my friends just got a spanking or something, but I got cuffed." Geesh. It's a fricken five year old.
Whoever called the police obviously shouldn't be working at a childcare center. I mean, I'm a camp councillor, and I don't call the cops everytime a kid has a a fit.
Hey, it gives the little girl 'street cred' "It all started back in '05 when I was 5 when they had to get 3 cops to pin me down"
Wow... There are little kids like this everywhere! So they decide to arrest this one for just ripping up papers? Unbelievable.
You got it Sherlock, this is how things work. Thank God I wasn't jailed for tearing up my grand father's newspaper everday.
The problem is that some parents ignore what their kids do, and like, if a teacher tells the parents their child doesn't behave, they say "Oh we'll take care of it don't worry" and they don't do a damn thing. Some even say "My child couldn't do that" and such... You know, there's a limit between being nice and not to care.
thats crazy. i mean some sort of punishment is due, but being cuffed by three police officers...come on. Adults, you need to grow up. sorry i couldnt help but say that.
LMAO. Man, what next? Give a toddler the death sentence? [/b][/quote] If they did give toddlers the death sentence...that would suck. There goes having my son be a fugitive...
Eh, IMO the police didn't have to become involved in this. Just do what my parents did to me: Lock me up in a dark room, and don't let her out until she gives up. Worked for me.
hahahahahahah. if this is the way we should react to lil children when they go wild then i should hav 991 on my speed dialing..................
