According to a radio Interview with Kirk Hammet on Radio Station "The Bear", Metallica are just about ready to get back in the studio. Hopefully not another St Anger
?? [/b][/quote] In the documentary Some Kind of Monster, you make a comment about how decisions were made when you weren't there, and you didn't have much say in the music - is this true? thats your answer i think I cant wait
I'll buy it regardless if it's another Saint Anger. I guess I've come to realize that they evolved and did what they wanted with that record, much like NIN always has. So for that, I commend them and respect them. Even if they've said they regret the album.
See, Casey...that's a true definition of a Metallica fan...has not given a fuck on what they did, still respect them no matter what they do (unless it's a ska metal album )
im neutral to metallica. i wont buy the album tho. and i probably wont even download it. i dont go out of my way to check out metallicas stuff.
I Can't Wait! I personally like St. Anger, and so even if they did something like that, I'd be fine. Hopefully though, they do something different. Maybe an album that's kind of a transition between the old stuff and St. Anger.
I think St Anger is an awesome album. But a mediocre Metallica one. The Loads proved what they could do if they evolved but St Anger was just a bit plain. I think James needs to go and write all the lyrics again
Me neither. But Metallica is a cool band. I'll see if I can check it out when any new material from it is released.
Sweet, their 80's discography is the shit. I'll buy this album the first day. St. Anger was great music, the vocals just sucked ass.
St. Anger was too formulaic; intro drum roll, stop and go riffs, dumb harmonics, cheesy mellow vocals, etc etc etc. The drums are so loud throughout production, Bob Rock really put an emphasis on Lars' horrid percussion. Frantic is actually a bearable song on the album, but I wouldn't sift through a bag of Metallica songs to get it. I'll have to watch Some Kind of Monster, maybe understand why Metallica produced such an album, replenish my faith, and possibly buy this album.
Where did they admit they regretted St.Anger? And maybe they should just not Kirk have any say. They made their best albums when James and Lars were the only ones writing.
I'm so not searching the forums to find the topic where they admit they regret St. Anger just because one person might not believe it.
I don't think they regretted making the album. I'm pretty sure James' said that he wished the songs were shorter or something. Anyone who has heard the Some Kind of Monster on St Anger and the SKOM Edit must agree.
