As probably all of you know, Common is a rapper from Chicago and has a spot in 'The Rising Tied' (Mike Shinoda's upcoming solo album). He's just released a full-length album ('Be'). I believe there are 11 tracks, 9 of which were produced by Kanye West, and that he's signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D label. I like Common mainly because he actually doesn't rap about bitches, money, and hoes. Does anybody else listen to/like Common's music? Source: BET Official Site
He doesn't rap about girls? What about 'Go'? I'm sorry, but that song is a disgrace to both John Mayer and Kanye West. Still, I trust Mike. I think...
I obtained "Be", and I didn't like it that much. I prefer Mos Def, Canibus, Tech N9ne or Talib Kweli over Common, really.
Commons new cd is decent. He definitely is more than just a socially conscious rapper though. Anyways Testify is a wicked song.
Nothin wrong with rapping bout girls, unless the lyrics in some way degrade women which i didnt find in the lyrics to 'Go'. And i dunno why you say its a disgrace to john mayor and kanye west when kanye produced the track and john mayor is featured in it. Anyway 'Be' is one of the best albums ive heard in 2005 so far. My favs are 'Be', "love is...', 'chi city' and 'The food'.

I know, I got the track literally 2 months ago and couldn't get through it once Kanye West seems like he's on auto-pilot, and Mayer just doesn't belong in the that genre of music, in my own opinion.
I think I've heard a song where he collaborated with John Legend and Kanye West. I need to become more familiar with him, seeing as he's appearing on The Rising Tied.

john mayor is on kanye west's new album anyway so he must have gotten him to help him out with the chorus to go.
