Wow, are you kidding me? Dookie is their biggest album to date and was a huge success. It's their greatest album by far. And Good Riddance was on Nimrod. And as for the overrated comment. That's his opinion. I think their new album is overrated to an extent, but meh.
Dookie was a big album...to the fans. Sales weren't good, I heard.
Dookie was a big album...to the fans. Sales weren't good, I heard.
But look at it 10 years after it's release...it became a cult hit, Dookie was the first album I ever owned in my life. Another 10 years from now, people will be more focused on Dookie instead of AI.
What in the hell are you guys talking about? Dookie sold 10 million copies. It was a huge massive success. Every single went to number 1. This is mind blowing .
Still haven't figured out what's so great about them. Jesus of Suburbia has to be the droning-est song ever.
Now it has sold 10 million to date. When it was released, it didn't sell out that much.
Okay this is the last comment on the Dookie sales. Dookie sold 10 million from around 94-96. Whoever told you, ''sales weren't good,'' doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. Anyway, Jesus of Suburbia annoyed me at first. But I think its a pretty good song.
It was in a magazine article about Green Day, and I'm pretty damn sure that everything would be correct. But if it's not, I'm sorry. There's no need for you to get defensive as you are doing now. I'm just saying something that I thought was true.
I'm sorry to come off as defensive, but I'm really just trying to prove a point. No hard feelings .
Don't worry, it's all good. Now let's get back on topic.
You'll fucking love them in concert. In the concert I went to back in January they made jokes, they brought people up from stage to play their instruments and Billie Joe was doing all kinds of things that were making everyone laugh and amazed.
remember i dookie the secret track? damn that was funny
Dude, your sig stretches the forums. Fix it.

He did that at the London gig too It was an emotional eding when Billie Jo finished it all off by playing Time Of Your Life,I saw many people crying,it really was one of my best times of my life because Green Day are a fucking awesome band. On another funny note the guitarist Billie Joe brought up from the crowd ran to him and hugged him for like 2 minutes and Billie Joe turned around and kissed him
Damn. Everyone says that Green Day sold out on American Idiot. They were just trying to be more different and creative. As for old favorites, I like Minority, The Grouch, Platypus (I Hate You), and Brain Stew/Jaded.
I really like that hidden track... "I was all by myself, no one was looking, I was thinking of you..." I'm not sure if it has a name... But seriously, I like all of Dookie.
It's called All By Myself. And Matt if you are directing that at me I don't feel that Green Day sold out. The only problem some of the old school fans have from what i've gathered is with the ignorant fans that don't know about the bands past. Like people who think AI is their first album.
